We do not know where the so -called mobility of the future is going, especially when we get up with news such as the official launch of the first teaser of the “Honda Koraidon project”based precisely on the fictional character that appears in the Pokémon Scarlet video game, launched to the market in the 2022 season.
As detailed by the brand in reference to Koraidon’s plot within the video game: “As the story progresses, Koraidon recovers her skills while traveling with the main character, such as walking on all fours (Limited Build), running using her strong limbs (Build Sprinting), swimming at high speed (Build swim) and planning in the sky (Build Planner), to take her rider to many places.”

What is the “Honda Koraidon project”?
Honda Koraidon is the mobility of the future created with the unique experiences and technologies of Honda in the form of Koraidon, with the cooperation of The Pokémon Company. The Japanese brand has made an almost real -size reproduction of the Koraidon shape, both by weight and size, even in the slightest details.
Honda will use its patented self -assembly technology to allow Honda Koraidon to walk on its four legs and hold on two wheels, something that is not seen in the game. This balance technology was released worldwide as Honda Riding Assist in CES 2017, which was developed by applying the self -quail technology cultivated in the humanoid robots investigation of Asimo. Honda will apply this technology to realize Koraidon’s “Sprinting Build”.
THE DETAIL PROJECT
In 2024, the Toyota Engineering Society created the “Toyota Miraidon” with the message of his project: “Adult devotion makes children’s dreams come true” The Honda Koraidon project began with the idea that Honda could create a Koraidon that was exclusively Honda, based on the commitment to monozukuri (the art of manufacturing) transmitted by Toyota Miraidon.

Under the motto “Honda’s devotion makes children’s dreams come true“the team applied design philosophy and simulation technology cultivated by the brand over the years.
Advanced Innovative Research Excellence technology will also be incorporated into Honda Koraidon, trying to resemble as much as possible to the video game’s own Pokémon. In short, the brand seeks that the concept in which it works can, among other things:
- Ability to walk in Sprinting Build and stay erect using balance control technology
- The hands and legs, neck and facial movements of Honda Koraidon will change along with their sprint speed, expressing dynamism.
- Planning to reproduce the movement of the face, eyes and eyelids.
The Honda Koraidon created through this project will be exhibited in Honda Welcomo Plaza Aoyama from Friday, March 7 until Sunday, March 9, 2025.
