An injury never arrives at a good time, but if you are also waiting to defend number 1, as has happened to Jorge Martín, it is even more delicate. The Spanish pilot, current MotoGP world champion, was injured in the preseason tests in Sepang, which already complicated his plans for the start of the campaign.
Fortunately, the entire process followed the expected path and Martín was prepared to get back on the motorcycle. That was when things twisted and a new accident forced him to go through the operating room again.
From the hands of Dr. Mir and his team, which subjected him to surgery in which according to the medical part he reported everything as expected: «Jorge Martín has been operated at the Dexeus Clinic in Barcelona by Professor Mir and his team. The intervention has been completed successfully, with the implementation of two screws at the level of the radius fracture and one at the level of the left scaphoid for stabilization and to facilitate the healing process. The surgery was performed percutaneously with arthroscopic assistance. In the next few days the forecast will be evaluated according to the clinical status of Jorge«.
For now there are no deadlines in Martín’s recovery
Now it only remains to be known to know the evolution of the new injuries, to be able to establish deadlines in which we can see the Madrid again about its April. While that moment comes and we know what Grand Prix we will see about the Italian motorcycle to the Spanish pilot, it has been Jorge Martín himself who through his profiles on social networks has wanted to send a message.
With his words it is clear what we could all know: that Martín only has an objective that is to recover to return to the track. It also makes it clear that he will do it without neglecting his hand and that, mentally, this blow has been hard.
