In just a few weeks, Harley-Davidson will unveil its most important new features for 2025, including a new model FLHXUor what is the same, a Street Glide Ultra never seen before. This is the conclusion we have reached after hearing the news published by Motorcycle colleagues. It details some of the registration requests made by the Yankee firm in recent months.
And indeed, these include the aforementioned FLHXU variant, a step above the current FLHX in terms of equipment and finishes. The novelty of the issue is that, until today, the American brand had not had a version of this type used as a base for the Street Glide.
Harley-Davidson FLHXU Street Glide Ultra 2025: What we can expect
As we all know, HD Ultra models are those with the maximum equipment and equipped with a complete front fairing, as well as a side case and top case kit. Until now the Milwaukee firm had offered these versions in the Road Glide, Electra Glide and even the Tri Glide models, but never before in a Street Glide variant.
However, upon discovering the brand’s latest patent applications, we see how the internal name FLHXU appears in the Australian and European offices respectively. In the first of them we see how the validity of this registration is effective as of December 20 of this same year, so everything indicates that we will have a FLHXU Street Glide Ultra at the presentation of the 2025 models.
In addition, the brand has confirmed the list of extra components that this model in question will have, including, among others, polished front brake calipers and points out that “not compatible with FLHXSE, FLTRXSE ’23-later, FLHX, FLTRX ’24-later, FLTRXSTSE ’24 and FLHXU ’25-later”, as detailed from Motorcycle.
Although we do not yet know the technical aspects that will involve a model of this type, it is almost certain that the new FLHXU Street Glide Ultra 2025 will be equipped with lower fairings and a newly designed Tour-Pak. The latter was registered with the European Union Intellectual Property Office and is likely to debut in this special version of the Street Glide.
Now it only remains to know if the new FLHXU will replace the current Ultra Limited and if, in addition, it will be equipped with the same platform in terms of engine and chassis. The latter equips the well-known Milwaukee-Eight 114 Twin-Cooled engine with the cooling system anchored to the lower part of the fairing.
However, touring models usually equip the radiator between the mechanical part and the chassis. We will clear up our doubts in just a few weeks when Harley-Davidson reveals its new features for 2025.
