HD Pan America Super Scrambler by Black Cycles

It must not have been easy (or cheap) to achieve this Pan America Super Scrambler, The work of an Australian fan Josh, who after acquiring the motorcycle in its original condition and shape, realized that it was not what he was looking for. So he turned to Noel Muller of Black Cyclesa local trainer who in just six months completely transformed the image of the well-known ADV to give way to an epic motorcycle in every sense.

This preparation, which we have recently learned about thanks to the colleagues at Pipe Burn, makes us reflect on the infinite possibilities that the design of almost any motorcycle can have. Undoubtedly, the Pan America Super Scrambler by Black Cycles elevates this theory to superlative terms, as evidenced by the images we show you of it. An unparalleled motorcycle that leaves no one indifferent.

HD Pan America Super Scrambler in detail

Today, when adventure motorcycles of any type are so fashionable, there are guys like Josh who, after purchasing what he assumed was the bike he wanted, immediately realized that he had made a mistake. As Noel explains: “He had bought it without much thought and he wasn’t really a fan of adventure bikes, and he asked me if he could do something interesting with it. I said of course, let’s do it!”

The Black Cycles team has created true works of art in recent times, and we recommend that you visit their Instagram to see them first-hand. So this project could become another of these geniuses and also comfort the owner of this 2022 Pan America with something totally different from the original concept. Noel tells about this:

“So once we received the bike a week later, we took off the plastics and crash pads, etc., to see what we were dealing with. So I could see that the base is actually very compact. I suggested a modern scrambler style as if Harley-Davidson had made a prototype for real motocross racing and Josh loved the idea.”

Among the main challenges that had to be overcome to achieve the desired version of the model were, for example, replacing the original fuel tank with one of shapes more in line with the new physiognomy of the motorcycle. Regarding this aspect, the idea was clear to continue, with an elongated and narrow tank that would reduce the final shapes of this Pan America Super Scrambler.

However, in order to carry out this reform, a new subframe had to be built, to which the tank is anchored at the back. This one, with 8.5 liters of capacity, seemed small in terms of performance, so a second tank was included anchored to the lower part of the engine with another 2.4 extra liters. Noel comments: “The auxiliary tank can be easily removed without tools to refill fuel if necessary.”

Now it was time to shape the body parts to cover all the modifications carried out. Black Cycles chose to build the new panels in aluminum and by hand, with an image halfway between a scrambler and a motocross motorcycle. Other modifications carried out on the Pan America Super Scrambler are:

  • Front mask with double superimposed Highsider LED optics
  • Customized custom seat
  • Kellermann turn signals
  • Handlebars and risers
  • Mirrors anchored lower to the handlebars

Without a doubt, one of the biggest headaches that this Pan America Super Scrambler gave was the installation of the exhaust system under the seat. Noel argued about it: “The first attempt was to put a pipe up from the original lower collectors, but it looked ridiculous. “So I cut the headers off and built a mid assembly so it would flow better visually into the Vance & Hines muffler.”

To finish off this jewel, the team of Popbang Classics the final decoration “in matte black with some bar and shield logos, large HD font, the new Super-Scrambler name and the number 25, which is only the 25th of the size of the 1250 engine.”

This HD Pan America Super Scrambler is, without a doubt, a masterpiece that, while maintaining the Pan America’s motor skills unchanged, has a truly suggestive character and personality.
