Since its introduction in 2017, the Honda X-ADV has built a loyal following across Europe thanks to its innovative combination of adventure bike and the utility and practicality of a maxi-scooter. The latest developments begin with the bodywork, which has been redesigned to give the 2025 X-ADV a sharper, more aggressive look, thanks to new fairings with multiple sharp angles and defined edges that give the 2025 model an almost Origami-like look.
The distinctive, high-quality look of the front light is also enhanced by the redesigned dual LED headlight, which incorporates highly effective Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and now, in a world first for motorcycles, also subtly integrates the X-ADV’s indicators. It also comes with even more comprehensive equipment, aimed at increasing practicality and comfort.
2025 Honda X-ADV Rivals
Within the maxiscooter category we can find some alternatives to the X-ADV, although without its Offroad capabilities:
2025 Honda X-ADV Engine
As before, the Honda X-ADV 2025 It uses a long-stroke SOHC 8-valve parallel twin-cylinder engine with liquid cooling. Honda has worked hard on the engine over the years, stating 59 hp at 6,750 rpm with 69 Nm of torque at 4,700 rpmall with an efficiency of up to 3.6 l/100 kmWith the A2 license limitation kit (injection body and ECU reprogramming) the figures are reduced to 47 hp at 6,000 rpm and 65 Nm at 4,000 rpm.
A latest generation maxiscooter like the X-ADV cannot be without an RbW electronic accelerator, HSTC traction control (3 levels of intervention, disconnectable), 5 driving modes (Rain, Standard, Sport, Gravel and User —customisable-) and dual-channel ABS. For the 2025 model year, Honda engineers have further refined the Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) to deliver smoother take-offs from a standstill and greater control at speeds below 10 km/h, significantly improving the X-ADV’s handling in and around urban environments.

The assembly is supported by a strong tubular steel chassis, which uses a 41mm Showa inverted fork (adjustable for preload/rebound), Pro-Link rear monoshock (adjustable for preload). The long-travel suspension (153.5 mm at the front and 150 mm at the rear) is complemented by a ground clearance of 165 mm.
The bike sits on spoked wheels, 17 inches at the front and 15 inches at the rear, while braking is handled by two four-piston, radial-mount calipers, biting 296 mm floating discs at the front and a single-piston caliper with a 240 mm disc at the rear. The weight in running order is 150 kg. 236 kg. The load capacity is 22 l. (including glove compartment, space for a full-face helmet, with hydraulics to secure the seat).
Honda X-ADV 2025 Equipment and Finishes
For 2025, the X-ADV comes with some improvements that increase its level of equipment and finishes, while maintaining the key elements of the previous generation. It stands out for its 5 inch TFT screen, now in full color, revised with newly designed graphics, menus and functionality and controlled via a new four-way backlit switch.
The TFT display has been designed for optimal readability on bright days and also incorporates connectivity Honda RoadSyncallowing seamless integration with users’ smartphones. Cruise Control is another useful addition to the 2025 model for long highway journeys; other practicality and comfort improvements include a thicker, more cushioned seat, reshaped to make reaching the ground easier, and a revised, easier-to-adjust windscreen.
As befits a vehicle as innovative as the X-ADV, the 2025 model employs 25 body parts made from sustainable materials such as recycled plastics and biomass plastics, establishing the X-ADV as the Honda model with the most extensive use of such materials. The use of sustainable Durabioother recycled plastics and rubber body materials is part of Honda’s long-term goal of achieving 100% sustainable materials use by 2050.
The dual LED headlights incorporate DRL daytime running lights, while all lighting is LED. Tough plastic handguards deflect wind and rain, as well as providing protection for your hands and levers from stone chips when riding off-road. A thick 2.5mm shot-peened aluminium skid plate protects the underbody. There’s also a USB-C charging socket and a centre stand with tilt sensor, which allows you to park the X-ADV on a slope without fear of it falling over.
For added functionality, the X-ADV uses a Smart Key proximity fob that eliminates the need for a key for the ignition, gas cap and seat. The X-ADV’s rear indicators also have a self-cancelling Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) function. The indicators are also self-cancelling. Instead of using a simple timer, the system compares the speed difference between the front and rear wheels and calculates when to cancel the indication in relation to the situation.
