Something that has characterized Jorge Lorenzo since many years, even before retiring, is that Mallorcan boasted to move his money to generate more. Diversifying in business, real estate, luxury cars … and just over a year ago he also went on to invest in a Noria in Vieste.
However, this last investment seems to be worse than expected, as Lorenzo himself has told in different television media. And, in his words, a person close to him convinced him about an investment in a tourist child for which he had to pay between 1.35 and 1.4 million euros.
The business plan was simple: the Noria was going to be installed in the tourist town of Vieste in Italy, and the Mallorcan was going to receive a rent for her from that person who had encouraged her to invest. A business that does not seem especially risky beyond that initial investment. In fact, Jorge himself became the image as the godfather of Noria herself, and did not hesitate to appear in different interviews for launch, and was even present at its inauguration in 2024.
Lorenzo’s problems arrived after the inauguration
Now, it has been Jorge Lorenzo himself who has publicly denounced that the situation is not the one agreed and that it has been receiving any payment a year. As he has revealed, both in interviews with Italian and Spanish television, shortly after the business began, he no longer received the agreed payments in the deadline, and for about a year he directly receives them.
Lorenzo states that he has civilly and criminally denounced the tenant who, at the moment and according to his own words, owes more than 300,000 euros after having charged 80,000. To this we must add that today the image of the Spanish pilot is still used as a claim despite the situation, and that it cannot contact the lessee.
At the moment, and since he can only make visible his situation, he asks friends and fans not to be fooled by the claim of his own name, and do not go up to the Noria of discord from which the panoramic view of the beautiful town of Vieste is seen.
