Koenigsegg once again excels in its favourite subject: 0-400-0 km/h

Koenigsegg is one of the most surprising manufacturers of all. It is dedicated to making impressive supercars in a completely artisanal way and in very limited runs. Its annual production is barely reduced to a few dozen (about 35 cars per year) and its exclusivity makes many collectors yearn for them. If there is something in which they stand out, it is performance and features. Their favorite test is the 0-400-0 km/h and now they have just broken their own record.

Like a student who excels in his favorite subject in search of an honors degree, Koenigsegg recently traveled to the Örebro airfield (Sweden). At this same location they had surprised with the Regera in 2023, but they knew of its potential and there was a model that could do it a little better. That’s why they took a Koenigsegg Jesko Absolutethe variant made specifically to achieve maximum straight line speed, unlike the “conventional” version.

In the one that bears the surname Absolut, modifications have been made to achieve a coefficient of aerodynamic drag of just 0.278 Cxreally low for a supercar. By removing the 800 kg of downforce generated by the Jesko at 275 km/h (the Absolute just 40 kg at that speed), an unrivalled top speed is unlocked. There was even talk of breaking the 500 km/h barrier. This aspect has not yet been tested, but its ability to accelerate very quickly and brake to the same extent.

In tests, the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut surpassed all the records of the Regera and managed to break four records. The most important and complete would be the 0-400-0 km/h in 27.83 secondsalmost a second less than its predecessor. It also managed to accelerate from 0 to 400 km/h in 18.82 seconds, an incredible amount. The other two records consist of the same exercise, but with 250 mph as the reference speed (which is 402.336 km/h).

To achieve these marks, the car received hardly any modifications beyond being refueled with E85 fuel and mounting tires Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 R that come as standard. Only a roll cage was fitted for safety and the seat of the Koenigsegg One:1, at the driver’s request.
