Lord Drake Kustoms, with Francisco Alí Manen at the helm, return at the beginning of the summer season with their new project, this BMW K1 Racer 1.2This is the second customization of the K1 Racer series, and it comes with a very sporty look, breaking with the styles used to transform motorcycles based on the German model.
LDK received the order from a client who had already seen the first BMW K1 Racer, a customised style Neoracer as defined by Manen himself. Transformed from start to finish, it is presented as an elegant, aggressive and above all unique custom bike.
BMW K1 Racer 1.2 in detail
Following in the footsteps of the first unit of this series of custom bikes, the first thing the Lord Drake Kustoms team did when this model arrived at their facilities in Vélez-Málag, was to completely dismantle it. Subsequently, the modification work included, among others: Installation of an inverted fork, BMW K1200 RS rims, new discs, brake calipers and tyres and mounting of a set of clip-on handlebars.
The subframe was then completely modified and a new rear tail unit, including a seat, from an MV Agusta F4 was installed, opting for upholstery with a custom finish.
Other elements that also make up this BMW K1 Racer 1.2 These include, for example, a WP rear shock absorber with independent bottle, a Motogadget Pro digital odometer, rear-set foot controls for the BMW K100 and a paint job inspired by the graphics and colours of “Martini”, with a graphite grey background and a gloss finish.
On the contrary, the fuel tank has been kept as standard. Not so the modified exhaust system based on a handcrafted central manifold and a stainless steel silencer with upper side outlet, which leaves its spectacular single-sided swingarm exposed. In addition, and like its predecessor, it has a V-Rod type front headlight installed, front turn signals for Motogadget grips, and 3:1 turn signals at the rear.
