It was the month of November of the year 2013 when, for the first time, we echoed the interesting work carried out by the Californian startup Lit Motors. The so -called C1, halfway between a motorcycle and a two -wheeled vehicle in its entirety, also stood out for having an elaborate self -evaluated system, as well as being propelled by an electrical equipment.
Lit Motors C1: Now in version 2.0
Almost three years after that, Lit Motors published a video on their social networks where we could see how the C1 moved on an ice track maintaining balance. In turn, we were also aware of Apple’s interest in acquiring the brand. In this way and using its resources, finishing the development of this motorcycle so advanced that it could also be the first to be completely autonomous, competing directly with four -wheeled vehicles that are already practically in their last phase of development.
Now, in 2025, the story of Lit Motors and its iconic electric C1 continues. Making a brief review of the model, remember that at the time the brand explained that this could be kept in grace equilibrium to the use of two huge gyroscopes located under the ground and capable of generating a maximum torque of no less than 1,700 Nm.
Equipped with two electric engines on the ion-lithium wheels of 8 kWh, he announced at the time an autonomy higher than 300 km per loadwith a maximum speed higher than the 160 km/h and an acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h of about 6 seconds. All this combined with premium equipment where we would find air conditioning, sound equipment, electric windows, smartphone connectivity and other “attachments” closer to the car than to the motorcycle.
Also last batch security systems at the time such as airbags, belts and redundant safety systems that will prevent the loss of balance at all times. Now Lit Motors is finishing a crowdfunding campaign, on the Wefunder specialized website, in which almost 1.7 million dollars have collected thanks to the confidence in the project of more than 1,000 investors.
The brand has announced a strategic development plan for the next nine years, with an updated prototype in just a few months, and with the year 2029 marked in the calendar as the time when its expected C1 would launch to the market. In addition, the brand estimates sales of more than 300,000 units in the first 5 years of commercialization, really optimistic fact taking into account in the phase of the project in which it is currently. Hopefully we are wrong.
