In recent years, try to show, by administrations, a concern for motorcycle safety and in any type of vehicle. In recent decades, these awareness measures, which at some times became very raw, have been operating, although not as much as they have done by points and sanctions.
The fact is that, in reality, all this was invented and in 1965, 60 years ago, there were already campaigns that sought to understand the risks of circulating and improving motorcycle safety. This is the case of this video that they called “look … Signal … Manoeuvre” (“Look … signal … maneuver …”), in which it was tried to understand how it had to circulate.
We must not lose sight that at that time, the rise of the motorcycle at European level was high. Although the video is from the United Kingdom, where the brands that triumphed were Triumph, BSA or Norton, also in our country the two wheels were a much more accessible private displacement option than cars.
The video sought to raise awareness about motorcycle safety, but today is a window to the motorcycles of the past
The fact is that in this video and in a way that we can catalog as curious, they begin to compare the life of Tom and his friend (of which the name is not said at any time), and the way in which they have been passing from the tricycle to the bike and from there to the motorcycle. The part of the motorcycle, already of adults, shows two styles and two ways to reach (or not) to work.
While Tom presents himself as a more sensible person, who takes his time to go to work and does it carefully, the friend is the opposite. So Tom is driving calmly, doing things as they touch and getting to work on time. But his nameless friend continues with his haste, driving recklessly and colliding with a cast van when he was about to arrive.
In the end the friend survives, but with the lesson learned, at the same time it brings us to the 21st century, which by the way we have consumed a room, a testimony of what motorcycles and equipment were like in those times. A reason why it is worth looking carefully every moment of, a video, which intended to raise awareness about security and that, despite time, is still right.
