Marc Falla, Pecco Wins and Alex becomes a leader

As the season had started, all the spotlights of the Americas were placed in Marc Márquez and what could do. With that added pressure, Marc went out to one of his fetish tracks and since Friday he wanted to mark territory. So much so that he even went to the ground spectacularly in the FP1, with a track complicated by the rain.

And it is that the rain has marked the GP of the Americas 2025, as it has been present every day, therefore conditioning everything that has happened on the track. Even so, Marc was able to dominate with an iron hand during Friday’s “practice” training and, later, on Saturday both in the free and in the chrono where the pole took again.

Already at the time of the Sprint Race, Marc finished putting all the meat on the grill, assuming many risks and even flying over the first round. Luckily it did not happen and after the scare in which Bagnaia had to dodge him, the waters returned to his channel. Then Marc towards the third victory in the Sprint race to share podium, and in the same order as in Thailand and Argentina, with Álex Márquez and Pecco Bagnaia.

Although they both tried they were not able to fight the entire race with Marc, although both left a world to the rest of the grill headed by a Fabio Di Giannantonio, who has felt comfortable and competitive in Austin, and who won the game to his partner, Franco Morbidelli.

Quartaro, Acosta, Marini, Ogura and Bezzecchi completed the top10 in the first race of the weekend.

The GP of the Americas 2025 had several script turns

When the race began on Sunday, one of those rare situations had already been experienced that only two. On the one hand, the Safety Car with the wet track, crashed and on the other, perhaps more importantly, Marc Márquez was running from grill where his Ducati was with rain tires for which he was waiting for him in the box with the dry ones. Bagnaia was the first to follow the frantic race of his teammate, who was looking to take with his foot changed to the rest of the pilots. But others followed in the steps of the two Ducati pilots, and the departure of the GP of the Americas 2025 had to be delayed.

When everything began again, with the track quite dry and with all the pilots with the dry tires, Marc took out the hammer and began to put a devastating pace. Assuming more risks than the rest, he first escaped from Alex and then could keep Bagnaia controlled, until in Tour 9 the Major of the Márquez stepped on more than a piano that was not yet in the best conditions and went to the ground.

In this way, all the domain that Marc had exercised in what we had of the season vanished. The Spaniard tried to resume the march and in fact did it although without stirrup and right brake, so once the ¾ of the race has passed, where it would no longer have been reprimanded in case of a red flag, he left.

And while on that side of Ducati’s boxing the drama was lived, on the other side, in Bagnaia the thing was different. Only and without making mistakes piloted until the finish line getting his first victory of the year, and cutting points both to Marc and an Álex Márquez who was again second, a position in which the three GP disputed has finished, and that he plays leader of the provisional classification for only one point over his brother. The podium was completed by Fabio Di Giannantonio, who also knew how to make differences with the rest leaving Franco Morbidelli more than six seconds.

Jack Miller took out his best version to hold on to a valuable fifth place ahead of Marco Bezzecchi, who has not been able to shine with the Aprilia in a layout in which last year Maverick Viñales swept.

Enea Bastianini achieved that until now is his best result with KTM with the seventh place while Luca Marini did the same with Honda from the eighth. Ai Ogura and Fabio Quartaro closed the top10.

A top10 in which both Fermín Aldeguer and Brad Binder, Johann Zarco and Joan Mir also, obviously, by Marc Márquez when they went to the ground. And it is that the GP of the Americas 2025 has been a challenge.
