Maserati Quattroporte Grand Finale, the end of the V8 engine era

He Maserati Quattroporte Grand Finale This is the end of the story of the Maserati Quattroporte, the premium sedan that always sought to bring sportiness to luxury. The latest of its updates has been on the market since 2017 and, in a world that demands SUVs, this means its disappearance, at least with a combustion engine.

Amidst rumours about the future of the company, which is struggling to become profitable in Stellantis, we learn about this version which, in addition to being the last Quattroporte manufactured, is also the farewell to the V8 engines. The Maserati Quattroporte Grand Finale is a special unit created under the Fuoriserie seal, the firm’s personalisation programme, which has also created the matching Maserati MC20 Iris, both destined for an American businessman in the biomedical sector.

The body of the new Maserati Quattroporte Grand Finale is in an elegant blue color Noble Blue and features a carbon fiber body kit painted in the same shade.

Inside we are greeted by plaques on the door thresholds with the inscription Grand Finalean emblem that is repeated on the central tunnel. The materials that cover the entire cabin are of the highest quality, and a detail such as the multifunction steering wheel with birch wood details is a good example. In addition, the vehicle identification number has been printed on the windshield and on the inside of the driver’s door: 999999.

Under the bonnet is the 3.8-litre V8 petrol engine that produces 580 hp and 730 Nm of maximum torque, an evolution of the one we saw in the Quattroporte GTS test. Being the latest, it had to be special, hence the exclusive cover that was signed by the Fuoriserie team and the engineers who worked on the project.
