Mercedes-AMG GT 63 SE Performance Coupé: the pinnacle of the range

The truth is that there are fewer and fewer models like the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé. In recent years we have seen two and three-door sports cars disappear, really few options left of this type of cars focused on the enjoyment of driving. Although, luckily, there are still some. And they reach performance levels as high as those of the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 SE Performance Coupewhich is the top of its range and achieves figures that give some respect thanks to its hybrid technology.

Although the star brand had been removing some large displacement engines, for this example it maintains the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, which is linked to an electric motor to achieve performance within the reach of very few cars. The combustion block goes on the front axle and the electricity pushes the rear one to achieve the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive. There is also a direct-cooled 400-volt AMG High Performance battery with a capacity of 6.1 kWh that allows you to travel up to 13 kilometers in electric mode, but that is not its main function.

It is more designed to provide electricity to support the combustion engine and achieve superior performance. In fact, this Mercedes-AMG GT 63 SE Performance Coupé boasts a combined power of 816 HP and 1,420 Nm of torque. With that level, the brand claims that it is capable of accelerating 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 320 km/h. All this with a chassis specially adjusted to face these surprising figures. We are talking about the AMG Active Ride Control running gear with semi-active roll stabilization, which has adjustable rebound and compression shock absorbers.

He also boasts of the eight driving modes typical of the AMG Dynamic Select, which in this case are Electric, Battery Hold, Comfort, Slippery, Sport, Sport+, Race and Individual. On the other hand, energy recovery to charge your battery can be adjusted in four levels. You cannot miss some elements of active aerodynamics, active steering on the rear axle to improve its agility and stability or the carbon ceramic brakes to improve its performance with 420 mm discs on the front axle and 380 mm on the rear axle.

Like the rest of the E Performance models, this sports car has a special configuration and many details that distinguish it from the rest. In addition to the distinctive logos, this model mounts 20-inch wheels with a ten-spoke design and in its catalog of options there are other 21-inch forged ones, along with numerous paints and individual equipment details. Inside The same thing happens and it benefits from details such as AMG sports seats with electric adjustment and upholstery such as Nappa leather with Microcut microfiber. With the Manufaktur program almost all aspects can be improved.
