After the spectacular French GP, we are all looking forward to MotoGP returning to action. And it will do so at the 2024 Catalunya GP, a track where we can experience great duels again as in the past. A priori we expect that the three main protagonists will once again be Jorge Martín, Marc Márquez and Pecco Bangaia, and taking into account the way in which the 2024 Ducati and Márquez's 2023 Ducati work, it is to be expected that this will be the case.
The three-way battle at Le Mans, the overtaking… They are already part of the history of motorcycling. But in Montmeló another great story can be written and with even more protagonists. Because if the Ducati are going well, the Aprilia are at home on the Catalan track, where last year they achieved the double.
The work in Noale has not stopped since then and Aleix Espargaró, who won last year and Maverick Viñales, who has shown that he is prepared to fight and who is only 10 points behind Bagnaia in the general standings, who is second and eight behind Márquez and Bastianini, are clear candidates to fight for everything.
In fact, in the paddock it is expected that the Aprilias will set the tone for the weekend. Something that, as always, we will only know if it is fulfilled once the action on the track begins and, especially, when the time for the races arrives.
In any case, we must not lose sight of the rest of the regulars like Pedro Acosta, who is already a regular despite being a rookie and who left France with a bad taste in his mouth after going down. But Marco Bezzecchi, Álex Márquez, Brad Binder and Fabio Di Gianantonio are also drivers who can and should be in the fight for the podium or very close to it.
Those who are still not expected to be in the top positions are the Yamaha and Honda riders. Although they continue to work tirelessly, it seems that they are having a hard time closing the gap, which is a clear example of how complicated MotoGP is. Two of the last three MotoGP champions are fighting to get into the points. We talk about Joan Mir and Fabio Quartararo. Such is the lack of competitiveness that Mir, being the Honda rider with the most points, only has 12 in his locker, while Quartararo has 25. Ahead, at the head, Martín leads with 129 points after 6 GPs.
In any case, for one reason or another, the 2024 Catalunya GP will be a spectacle to enjoy from the start of free practice. In addition, it will be the perfect preamble to the Italian GP that will be held next week, so it is important not only to go fast, but also to have luck on your side to avoid possible injuries.
Where to watch MotoGP Catalunya 2024
And to be able to enjoy everything that happens we have three official ways. On the one hand we have DAZN and its live broadcast that can be followed both by the platform and by the other usual operators.
On the other hand, we have the option of MotoGP.com and its Video Pass that allows us to see the activity on the track and also access content on demand. These are the only two ways to watch the 2024 Catalunya GP live.
But the most important thing is that this weekend and starting on Saturday you will be able to follow everything that happens on the track through Mega and La Sexta. On Saturday, Mega will be the TV network that broadcasts it and on Sunday the broadcast will move to La Sexta.
