The Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit is one of the first modern circuits that arrived at the Motorcycling World Cup. He did it at a time when he was still running in the old Hocknheim, in Jarama, in Salzburgring … it was a track of the new batch, with large boxes, stands, modern facilities, a space designed for the sport of modern engine.
Today the Circuit of Barcelona-Catalunya is neither the most modern of the calendar nor, despite the different remodeling, the safest. However, it now remains as a classic in the calendar of the now called MotoGP World Cup and will continue, at least, until 2031.
Thanks to the new agreement reached between the different parties that manage the public track and the promoter of the championship, it is ensured that the Catalan layout will house competitions of the contest for 40 consecutive years, a milestone for a track that is already today of the that more competitions have celebrated.
The Barcelona-Catalunya circuit will not enter the rotation
It must be remembered that a few years ago Dorna was raising to leave out one of the five Iberian tracks every season, and the Circuit of Barcelona-Catalunya was one of those expected to be broken at least together with Motorland and Portimao. But that circumstance has not already come to be given to what the statements of the representatives of Dorna, Circuit and Fira will be given, it will not occur before 2032.
