Although being connected is normal today, when Nolan launched its N-Com series it was not. So much so that smartphones did not even exist. The range, which sought a 100% integrated communication system in the helmet without modifying either style or comfort, was born in the distant 2005, almost 20 years ago.
Since then, different products have been coming onto the market, offering their quality systems while respecting safety standards, producing their products in Italy and homologating their helmets along with the N-Com communication systems.
What’s more, the development of the helmet and the N-Com system allows customers to benefit from a well-rounded, integrated product with first-class levels of communication, comfort and ergonomics. In addition to being slim and ergonomic, Nolan’s N-Coms feature a noise-cancelling microphone that makes the journey more comfortable.
The collaboration with Sena has taken Nolan’s N-Coms one step further
In recent years, Nolan has been actively collaborating with SENA, a leader in communication systems, to take the N-Com a step further by offering customised software functions. This collaboration has been based on R&D with the aim of ensuring that the performance and level were at the highest level, which is what is expected from the Italian manufacturer.
It is precisely from this collaboration that the two latest members of the N-Com saga have been born, which have arrived in the catalogue this year. We are talking about the M951 R, which is designed to be compatible with all Nolan polycarbonate helmets, and the M951 X, which is compatible with fibreglass helmets.
Both N-Com devices feature Mesh technology, which according to Michele Amoruso, developer and N-Com project manager at Nolangroup “It is aimed at users who like to communicate in very large groups and who also seek greater stability in conversation. In fact, this technology makes it possible to establish a network of dynamic connections between different systems, capable of continuously reorganizing and self-repairing based on the conditions of use, guaranteeing greater flexibility and reach.”
Thanks to the Open Mesh mode, you can achieve unlimited connection with all users by simply pressing a button. It also allows you to create private groups of up to 24 users with whom you can chat privately during your rides.
Finally, it should be remembered that the N-Com range is diversified into the X series with the M951 X (new 2024) (Mesh), B902 X and B602 X (both Bluetooth), as well as the R series with the M951 R (new 2024) (Mesh), B902L R, B902 R, B602 R, B101 R (all Bluetooth), although you can find more information about all of them on Nolan’s website.
