“The world is very poorly distributed”, or that is at least the conclusion one reaches after watching a video of just one minute in length where Neymar shows the garage of his new mansion in one of the most prestigious areas of Brazil. And let no one misunderstand my words. I’m not talking about the fact that a guy who kicks a ball lives in a house valued at 10 million dollars.
Rather, the purchase of the “detached house” (see the irony) included a collection of almost twenty motorcycles, including several Old School ones. If we add to this the fact that good old Neymar does not know how to ride a motorcycle and also, as he himself claims, he would be afraid to ride them, you can understand the stir generated in my gut while I have to type these lines. In any case, reviewing the jewels that Neymar treasures in his personal garage, in addition to an excellent matte black Ferrari Purosangue, we can delight ourselves with a string of nineties Superbikes that have now become true icons of two wheels:
First generation Suzuki GSX-R1300 Hayabusa, Ducati 916, MV Agusta F4, Yamaha R1 MK1 (X2), CBR 1100 XX, three examples of GSX-R750, including a SRAD, a ZXR750, another example of ZX-7R, a ZZR 600 and even a CBR900 SC28 from 1994, are included in this collection of motorcycles.
There is no doubt that the guy who sold the house and the motorcycles to Neymar had good taste and also a good nose for business. Although of course, when they pay you 10 million dollars for a piece of real estate, it shouldn’t hurt too much to put your beloved Old School collection in that same operation. So at first sight, as the current market is, its average value would be around 100,000 euros, so there is nothing to object to.
What is striking is how many media outlets, after reporting the news, assumed that Neymar is a great lover of motorcycles and an inveterate collector. For example a button: “What really catches our attention are the many sports motorcycles that Neymar has acquired over the years, giving free rein to his passion, never seen before, for speed and, in particular, for two-wheeled vehicles.”
As I already mentioned at the beginning of the article, he clearly explains that he does not ride a motorcycle, because he cannot. We assume that he will have some clause in his sports contract that prevents him from doing so. But he also openly recognizes the fear he feels towards this recreational activity. A shame, although you could consider doing a good charity and donating that incredible collection of motorcycles to someone who knows how to value and enjoy them, right? I put myself “first” on the list.
