Ninja H2 derivatives to the air conquest

Recently, Kawasaki Motors He announced a strategic alliance with Dronamics, the Bulgarian company specialized in the design and manufacture of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). The collaboration focuses on the development by the Japanese firm of “fed turbo piston engines” that would later be used in various aviation applications, including the brand’s flagship platform, the Black Swan. The latter is presented as a non -manned civil cargo plane capable of transporting 350 kg at a distance of 2,500 km.

Kawasaki and Dronamics open a new era in aerial propulsion

Previously, Kawasaki has put its legendary Ninja H2 engine at the air sector to boost vehicles such as Cassio 330, a Voltaero project or its own K-Racer saga. However, now the initiative goes one step further, since the idea that fundamental this agreement is the creation of new 4 and 6 cylinder fed gasoline engines online with which to obtain the motor type certification by 2030 (gasoline), 2035 (hydrogen and e-combustible).

The alliance will allow both companies to cooperate throughout the entire life cycle, from motor development to tests. This includes R&D and Integration Engineering, Flight and Validation Tests of the Civil Load of Dronamics, the Black Swan, with the aim of establishing a new standard in aerial propulsion. Konstantin Rangelovco -founder and technology director of Dronamics, he commented on his company’s agreement with Kawasaki Motors:

Kawasaki Motors signs a collaboration agreement with the Startup Bulgar Dronamics for the manufacture of propellants for the aviation sector

“This strategic alliance with Kawasaki Motors marks a significant advance in unmanned aviation technology. As a R&D member, we do not just adopt the advanced aerodynamic piston engines of Kawasaki Motors: we collaborate to define the future of the performance of the aircraft. The fact that Kawasaki Motors has chosen our black cargo drone platform His renewed focus on aerial propulsion is a true honor for us and a testimony of technological leadership that our dronamics team has developed during the last decade. ”

This collaboration also strengthens dronamics ties with the Japanese industry, since the carbon fiber used in its drone Black Swan is of Japanese origin. In addition, it paves the way for a version of the Black Swan manufactured entirely in Japan, designed for the local market, which would provide services not only to the transport of civil charge, but also to relief missions in disaster cases, emergency reference, fire extinguishing and other civil protection missions.

Hiroshi TomomoriExecutive Director, Group Manager, Aviation Systems Group, Kawasaki Motors, Ltd. comments: “The association with dronamics represents an exciting milestone in the renewed commitment of Kawasaki Motors with aerospace innovation. By combining our extensive experience in engines development with the pioneer technology of non -manned aerial vehicles (UAV) of dronamics, our goal is to offer propulsion systems that redefine the performance and sustainability in non -crew and aviation aircraft general.”

The engines that Kawasaki intend to develop would have displacements of 999 CC and 2,069 CC respectively, obtaining a Final power of 200 hp, in the case of the small engine and 375 hp for the mechanics of greater capacity. In addition, the brand has strongly invested in the development of this technology with the intention that its future range of Aero piston engines work with hydrogen.
