Norton will bring back the iconic Manx acronym. If it’s going to be like this… Take my money!

Since TVS Motor took over Norton Motorcycles, much has been said about the moment that is about to arrive in just a few weeks. We are referring to the presentation of the long-awaited range of 2026 models from the British firm on the occasion of the 2025 Milan Motor Show.

Perhaps one of the issues that has revolved around this fact the most is directly related to the commercial names chosen by the company to name its new models.

Norton recovers the Manx acronym

Now, thanks to Visor Down, we have learned several possible names with which Norton will give life to its new range of models. Although the British brand says it wants to break with the past in some aspects, there is no doubt that its historical legacy should be part of this new commercial era under the tutelage of TVS Motor.

In any case, we recently told you how the brand, for the moment, has ruled out any of the future models being named with the iconic Commando acronym. A strategy that can work well for you if we stick to the simile offered by the British media:

Norton Motorcycles brings back the iconic Manx acronym for its long-awaited 2026 model range

“When Triumph relaunched in 1990, it did so without the Bonneville. When Indian Motorcycle was reborn under the leadership of Polaris in 2014, the Scout was not part of its first production motorcycle. That tactic seemed to work well for one of those brands.” The ones that do seem like they will return in the form of a new mount will be the Manx.

It has even been confirmed that there will be two models using this legendary name in the world of two wheels. On the one hand, a naked frame that would be called Manx “just”, and on the other, a sports variant of this registered as Manx R. Regarding the latter, everything suggests that we would be facing a faired version with revised ergonomics and a cycle part more focused on the sporty level.

Norton will debut at EICMA 2025 with the official launch of four new models

Likewise, the Atlas acronym would be the third option that Norton is preparing to officially present at EICMA 2025. In this case we would be looking at an adventure-type model, most likely developed on the same platform as the future BMW F 450 GS. Another option would be an ADV model but equipped with the same engine as the aforementioned Manx (a parallel twin with a displacement between 700 and 900 cc).

This would leave the door open to two adventure-type mounts developed with different mechanics, although it is something that the brand has not yet confirmed. Nor what will be the name chosen for the official presentation of its new 1,200 cc V4 Superbike. The latter is expected to become the fourth model of this initial 2026 range that Norton will unveil in just 11 days.
