Not suitable for heart patients

It is common to see BMW preparations, but always looking back in time. More exceptional is to locate motorcycles like the BMW R 1250 GS Supermotoa bike that comes prepared to break the mold of what we might expect from an R 1250 GS. So much so that it completely reverses the roles and if in a GS we would look for the possibility of an off-road adventure, this customization calls for war on the road.

The creation of VTR Customs is precisely looking to make the BMW R 1250 GS Supermoto as fast as possible on the track. To do this, the first thing is to forget about panniers, knobby wheels, handguards and other trail paraphernalia. But that alone is not enough, so they got very serious to make this GS become only S. And that is because GS is the acronym for Street / Street (Terra / Street) and as we have seen, they had plenty of land.

The BMW R 1250 GS Supermoto is more than just aesthetics

The thing is that for this they put on some more than striking 17-inch rims, like any good supermotard, signed by Kineo and personalized. Another thing that is essential in the supermotard is the anti-rebound clutch to control the skidding when entering the curve and voila!, they installed a Suter Racing BTL.

The collector system and the pipe are from Akrapovic in titanium, while the silencer is from SC Project in carbon. They have also changed the seat and given it a finish that is almost more striking than effective, but we can forgive them for that. They also worked on the suspensions, especially at the front and its travel, to achieve the geometry and behaviour that the bike requires in its new configuration.

A silent SC Project finishes giving it the final touch

And to top off this curious work of art, which, as we have told you, they called the BMW R 1250 GS Supermoto (it was not a question of wasting creativity on the name when the whole bike had to be made) they ordered a multitude of carbon fibre parts, as well as personalising the paint. Thanks to the changes made, they managed to reduce the weight of the bike by eight kilos, which doesn’t seem like much until you carry it in a water jug and have to climb a ladder…
