Remember the Norton Nemesis V8 that Allen Millayard was restoring? Well it sounds that impressive!

A few months ago we told you about the restoration process of a Norton Nemesis V8 that Allen Millyard, engineer and mechanic, was carrying out. After a quarter of a century on display at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham, Allen intended to bring back to life the only known prototype of the British firm.

In 1998, in an attempt to return to their past successes, the brand’s engineers created the Norton Nemesis V8, an extremely ambitious project with which they intended to have the fastest registered motorcycle in the world. Its heart was a 1,500 cubic centimeter V8 created from two Kawasaki 750 blocks. But it stopped beating for more than 25 years.

Now, Allen Millayard has brought the Norton Nemesis V8 to life again and, best of all, he has been documenting his steps so that we can all enjoy the process. A slow and meticulous process that started last year, after a brief attempt in which serious mechanical problems were noted.

The challenge of bringing the Norton Nemesis V8 back to life is huge

As we can see, albeit briefly, the Norton Nemesis V8 has worked again. But to get to this point, the headaches must not have been few. And we must not forget that we are looking at a prototype, so there is not much information about it nor, much less, spare parts or replacements of parts that could speed up everything.

We are, therefore, facing a restoration in difficult mode in which Allen has had to put all his effort. To give an example of how complex everything is being, we only have to say that, for now, there have been 15 episodes in which the Norton Nemesis V8 has been restored, and only in the 14th was it possible to put all the engine components into operation. its place and do a small test outside the bike to see if it would start.

Now it is placed in its place, the cycle part also seems to be in its final mode and the final result in terms of sound is spectacular. It is true, yes, that the straight exhausts without any type of silencer help but, at the end of the day, it sounds like power and evokes what could have been.
