Repsol returns to MotoGP in 2026 as official sponsor of the championship

In 2024 the oil company announced its departure from the championship after almost three decades of collaboration with Honda HRC. In a brief statement issued by the brand, it stated: “Repsol has decided not to renew the sponsorship contract with Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) in the MotoGP World Championship, which ends on December 31 of this year.”

concluded: “The Repsol Honda Team is the most successful team in the history of the championship, with 11 team titles, 15 drivers’ titles and 183 victories in the premier category of motorcycling.”

Now the oil company and MotoGP will begin a new collaboration in 2026, making this the official supplier of lubricants for Moto2 and Moto3. The company will also be the main sponsor of one MotoGP Grand Prix each season and will have a prominent on-track presence throughout the calendar.

As a supplier of Moto2 and Moto3 lubricants, the company will test its products in the most extreme conditions – competition – ensuring that the energy company can continue to offer the most advanced technology in its commercial products around the world.

Repsol Lubricants has a wide catalog of products, developed at the Repsol Technology Lab, one of the most advanced and recognized private R&D centers in Europe, equipped with the latest generation technology and a team of 230 researchers and scientists.

Following this agreement with MotoGP, the brand will also launch a new range of racing products, reinforcing its commitment to end consumers by offering lubrication solutions for all types of motorcycles, from high performance to daily use.
