If at EICMA we have seen many 2025 motorcycles, it has also helped us learn about Michelin’s new features for the next campaign. The French manufacturer, a reference both in the two-wheeled sector and in general terms for all those vehicles that need tires, has also taken advantage of the Milan show to present three new models for 2025.
These are three segments that are very well defined and different from each other. They cover, on the one hand, touring motorcycles, on the other, maxi scooters and to top it all off, they focus on enduro. Thus, the Michelin novelties are three tires called Road W GT, Power Shift and Enduro 2.
These are the Michelin innovations for the new year
Michelin PowerShift
If we start to review the most important Michelin innovations we have to do so, by level of demand and consumption, for the new Michelin Power Shift. A tire that is scheduled to arrive in January 2025, and that has been designed taking into account the performance and needs of maxiscooters.
It is a tire that seeks exceptional safety, durability and performance and will be available in two sizes for the front, 120/70 R 15 (56H or 58H load index), and a single size for the rear, 160/60. R 15 M/C.
This new tire seeks to improve wet sensations thanks to its advanced compound and Water Evergrip Technology sipes, and has also been designed to last 15% longer than its predecessor.
Michelin Road W GT
This is the most touring tire among the Michelin innovations for 2025 and is designed expressly for the Honda Gold Wing. There is no doubt that the Japanese motorcycle is one of the largest and heaviest on the market, and that is why it needs very specific characteristics to offer the necessary performance.
With the weight and torque of the Gold Wing, you need a tire capable of coping with the demands it will encounter, and that is why a reinforced structure with a three-ply radial carcass has been worked on. The tread and patterns have been designed to achieve greater water evacuation, something that is especially seen in the front tire. As for the measurements in which they will be available: a single 130/70 R18 front option and two rear options, 180/60 and 200/55 in this case in 16 inches.
Michelin Enduro Medium 2
To finish off the Michelin innovations for this new year, we find a commitment to enduro, with a tire that seeks versatility. During the practice of enduro you can go from dry terrain to mud, from hard to soft areas and achieving optimal behavior in all of them is what you are looking for.
The rigid rubber compound allows driving to be more precise, improving control and grip using technologies patented by the French manufacturer such as Michelin Bias or Michelin Carbon Black Technology. In this case the options are two for the front tire 90/90 and 90/100, both in 21 inches and for the rear in 18 inches we find the 120/90 and 140/80.
