Segway ups the ante on electric mobility with its new E150S and E250S

Achieving clean, fast and efficient mobility is what electric motorcycles pursue, but to do so they have to face challenges such as autonomy or recharging. That is why Segway goes one step further in its proposal, with the arrival of two new models that seek to advance along that path, such as the Segway E150S and the E250S.

Each of the two models is designed for a different area to end up coming together in the city. In the case of the Segway E150S, its approval category is L1e-B, which means that it is a moped and, therefore, its maximum power is 3.6 kW (4.8 HP) and its maximum speed is limited to 45 kilometers per hour. This means that its use is limited to the urban environment.

Its battery, with an upgradeable configuration, offers up to 171 kilometers of WMT autonomy, although the second and third batteries are sold separately. It has a fast charging system that allows you to go from 20 to 80% charge in the standard configuration of a battery in 80 minutes. In addition, it has dual-channel ABS, an interesting option considering that we are talking about a moped.

The Segway E250S is designed with leaving the city in mind

Another of the great challenges of electric vehicles is being able to have sufficient autonomy and speed to leave the most central part of the cities. For this, Segway has the E250S, which, being in the L3e-A1 category, can be driven under the same conditions as a gasoline 125.

In the case of the Segway E250S we already have a maximum speed of 90 kilometers per hour and a power of 7.5 kW (10.05 HP) with the usual behavior of electric vehicles in terms of engine torque. Its WMTC autonomy reaches up to 160 kilometers when the three batteries are used, although the third does not come standard and is an extra. As for charging, it goes from 20% to 80% with the two batteries in less than two and a half hours. In addition, it has intelligent traction control.

Something that both Segway models share is a 5-inch full-color LCD screen, which connects to the Segway Mobility App. They include new features such as integrated navigation, real-time driving data, incoming call notification and multimedia controls. They also have Segway’s exclusive Bluetooth Airlock system for automatic unlocking and both models have 34 liters of under-seat storage capacity.

The two models are now available in the Segway dealer network in Spain.
