Everything in this life has a beginning and an end. Also the sporting career of drivers as emblematic as the Italian Simone Corsi. The Roman has decided to put an end to a professional career in the world of two-wheeled competition after almost 23 years of career. He published a brief statement on his social networks in which he made his decision official:
“Hello 2024, my sports career ends here. Sooner or later this moment had to come. It has been a very long 23 years. Sacrifices, satisfactions, but also many disappointments. In 2025 new challenges await me, I will be on the track but with a different role. Thank you family, friends and fans. Happy New Year everyone.”
Simone Corsi’s professional career: A long journey to get here
If there is something that cannot be blamed on Corsi, it has always been his desire to continue. Doing it on many occasions against the current, although this never mattered to the transalpine pilot. Good proof of this is his time in the CIV and later his last sporting stage in the World Supersport.
Behind them are achievements within the reach of only a few within high-competition sport, such as having crossed the finish line in first position in 5 GPs or climbing the box on up to 21 occasions. He also achieved 5 pole positions and 2 fastest laps in the race, throughout his professional career in the different categories of the world championship.
His best result in the World Speed Championship is undoubtedly the runner-up position achieved in the 125 cc category in the 2008 season, after taking four victories and reaching the podium on up to 7 occasions that same year.
Later, his stage in Moto2 would come from 2010 until the 2022 season, where he would obtain up to 9 podiums, with a 5th place overall in 2010 as the best result.
Now, as reported by the colleagues of Moto It, Corsi “He will become sports director of the Forward Racing team in Moto2, starting in 2025.” From the SMN editorial team we can only wish him the best in the future and thank him for his dedication and dedication throughout his entire sporting career.
