The calls for review They are one of the main fears of all drivers. These are the warnings that manufacturers issue that some of their cars have a manufacturing problem that may put safety at risk and that must be resolved. The NHTSA data has come out, with all the records that were in the United States during 2024. Tesla is the one that receives the most calls for reviewalthough it also has the peculiarity of not being the one that makes its owners go to the workshop the most.
The Palo Alto firm’s vehicles have always stood out for their high level of connectivity. There are many occasions in which they launchOTA updates, Over the Airwhich only require users to connect to the network to make changes to the vehicle’s software. Precisely in that way 99.2% have been resolved of Tesla recalls, comfortably from home and without having to go to any specialized center. Almost 5.1 million units needed a recall and only 39,605 units had to go to the dealer.
In this way, Tesla has the debate about whether the calls for review were strictly necessary or they were done simply to improve minor aspects. After all, they knew they weren’t going to “bother” their customers. The other part is whether they should have left the factory without the need for those updates. In any case, they are not the only ones that they do, since in the United States there were also OTA recalls for more than a million Stellantis vehicles and for almost half a million General Motors vehicles, among others.
On the other hand, if we talk about physical recalls, in which the car had to go to the workshop to carry out some type of repair, there are other “winners.” The Ford remain those who visit the dealerships the most, with more than 4.7 million vehicles in 66 calls. They also include those of the luxury brand, Lincoln, and are beginning to worry their owners. They are followed by others like Honda and Stellantisboth with 3.7 million cars that have had to go to the workshop due to recalls.
We are talking about the North American market, which has different models than the European ones and also completely different sales levels, but this is how the list of recalls in 2024 from the NHTSA remained:
