BMW Motorrad does not want to miss the opportunity to attend the well-known Motor Bike Expo that will be held from January 24 to 26. The brand will show its BMW R 12 S to the audience, as well as an exclusive update of the Boxer Heritage range model. To do this, it will have a stand of almost 500 m², ready to welcome and surprise lovers of the world of two wheels with a series of unmissable novelties.
BMW news at Motor Bike Expo 2025: What to expect
After its official presentation, the new BMW R 12 S arrives on Italian territory. This model pays tribute to the historic and legendary racing motorcycle of the 70s, the R 90 S, which in 1973 was, not only a sporting milestone for the brand, with 67 HP and a maximum speed of 200 km/h, but also in terms of driving dynamics.
In the new model, BMW combines a design with retro charm with the most advanced modern technologies. In technical terms we find the same platform used by the R 12 nineT, powered by the well-known 1,170 cc air/oil-cooled boxer engine. This is associated with a six-speed transmission, offering a final power of 109 hp at 7,000 rpm. The maximum declared torque reaches up to 115 Nm at 6,500 rpm.
Likewise, along with the long-awaited R 12 S, BMW Motorrad will present as a world premiere an exclusive update of a model from the Boxer Heritage range, details of which will be revealed in the coming days.
Everything indicates that we are talking about the new generation of the BMW R 18, of which we already gave you a preview in this article after a teaser video released by the German firm on its social networks.
There will also be space at this Motor Bike Expo 2025 to once again exhibit the Concept R 20, the brand’s most ambitious project on a revolutionary boxer engine. Officially presented at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2024, Markus Flasch, current director of BMW Motorrad, comments on it: “The BMW R20 is a mechanical masterpiece with the Big Boxer at its core. An unmistakably BMW Motorrad element.”
Other novelties that will arrive at the BMW Motorrad stand at the Motor Bike Expo 2025 are, for example, some of the most emblematic models of the GS line, including the long-awaited R 1300 GS and F 900 GS -also present in the Adventure version- and the versatile F 800 GS, ideal for excursions of any length. The 11 kW CE 02 and the new C 400 GT will also be on the stand.
Finally, BMW Motorrad will be present in the Urban Culture area of the Motor Bike Expo, dedicated to street art, underground music, graffiti and new proposals for the youngest. Here, among skate ramps, longboards, vinyl records and hip hop dancers, visitors will be able to discover the BMW CE 02 4 kW and CE 04 scooters.
