Test Macbor Rockster 410
The world of custom motorcycling is full of motorcycles that reflect the personality of the rider. And within this universe, the bobber have gained ground as an option that balances simplicity and style. The Macbor Rockster 410 It is one of those motorcycles that, with a classic design and minimalist lines, invites us to enjoy the road with a relaxed attitude but full of character. This Macbor model seeks to offer an affordable alternative within the custom segment, with that bobber touch that so attracts those looking for something more than a simple means of transportation.
Today I will tell you my experience after trying it in its presentation in Portuguese lands, on the banks of the Rivera del Duero. From its robust design to its behavior in different scenarios, I will give you all the details you need to know this custom bobber that seems made to stand out in any environment.
Test Macbor Rockster 410 – Engine: Just the Right Power to Enjoy the Trip
A custom bike doesn’t need to be the fastest to be fun, and this is something that Macbor Rockster 410 understands perfectly. Its 401 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine delivers 42 HP at 9,000 rpm, which may not seem like much if you are used to larger displacement motorcycles. But on this type of motorcycle, it is more than enough to enjoy each ride. Because they stretch a lot.
The torque of 32.8 Nm at 7,000 rpm is what really makes this bike feel alive on the road. The power delivery is smooth and progressive, allowing you to enjoy a relaxed drive without having to constantly change gears. Around town, the bike feels agile, with enough response for quick overtakes or maneuvering through traffic, while on the open road, you can maintain a comfortable pace without the engine feeling strained.
Although bobbers are not motorcycles designed for speed, the Rockster 410 It has enough oomph to keep you entertained on highway rides. It takes 160 km/h easily. But again, this is not a bike to go at full throttle, but to enjoy the road calmly and in style.
Test Macbor Rockster 410 – Design: Minimalism with Presence
When talking about style motorcycles bobberthe first thing that comes to mind is that classic aesthetic, with clean lines, a low seat, chopped fenders and wide tires. and the Macbor Rockster 410 does not disappoint. At first glance, its design is pure attitude. The low seat (735 mm from the ground) invites you to sit back and feel part of the bike, with the wide, low handlebars putting you in a relaxed position, perfect for enjoying each kilometer without rushing.
Its large gas tank has a rounded shape reminiscent of classic custom motorcycles from the 1950s, while the exposed engine and chassis lines provide that industrial and raw touch that we like so much in this style. But it’s not all nostalgia: details like the LED headlights and taillights, its dual exhaust and its matte finishes remind us that this is not a traditional bobber, but a modern interpretation of this timeless style.
What caught my attention the most was the combination of classic and modern. Macbor has managed to find that perfect balance between a visually attractive motorcycle, which seems taken from a period movie, but with the technologies and features that we demand today. It is a bobber with character, yes, but it is also very accessible in both price and usability.
Macbor Rockster 410 Test – Ergonomics: Comfort and Control
If you have ever tried a custom motorcycle, you will know that the riding position is key to enjoying the ride. In the case of the Macbor Rockster 410you will find yourself in a driving position that, although low, allows you to feel in control at all times. The wide handlebars put your arms in a comfortable position and the seat, although minimalist, has enough padding to keep you comfortable on urban or interurban trips.
With a seat height of only 735 mm, even shorter riders will have no problem reaching both feet to the ground. This also contributes to a feeling of security, as you don’t have to fight with the bike when stopping at traffic lights or when maneuvering in tight spaces.
Plus, the relatively low weight of 185kg (kerb) helps the bike feel agile around town, something that’s especially appreciated if you’re not used to heavier customs.
One of the points that I liked the most is how the motorcycle makes you feel that you are part of the environment. In a bobber, the connection between the rider and the machine is fundamental, and the Rockster 410 It transmits it to you in every corner and acceleration.
Test Macbor Rockster 410 – Brakes and Safety: Efficiency without Complications
As for the brakes, the Macbor Rockster 410 It comes equipped with a double disc in the front axle, a novelty in motorcycles in its segment, 300 mm in diameter bitten by a double-piston caliper. In the rear axle, a 240 mm disc with a piston. Of course, it has a dual-channel ABS system.
During my test, the brakes responded strongly in all situations. Whether in light city braking or emergency stops on the highway, the ABS did its job without being intrusive, which is key to maintaining control on less ideal surfaces.
The progressiveness of the front brake is a positive point, since it allows braking to be modulated smoothly, without fear of locking the wheel in the event of more aggressive braking. The rear brake is also effective, but on this type of motorcycle I always recommend using both brakes together to obtain the best response.
Test Macbor Rockster 410 – Technology: It is fair and necessary
A bobber style motorcycle is not exactly characterized by being full of technology, but the Macbor Rockster 410 offers what is necessary for comfortable and safe riding today. We found a TFT color instrument panel circular, 9 inches, with mirroring connectivity that has 4 different displays that show you all the necessary information about the motorcycle: speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge and gear indicator.
The LED headlights They are another detail that contributes both in aesthetics and functionality. The round headlight with integrated daytime running light gives it a classic and modern touch at the same time, while the turn signals and taillight, also in LED, ensure that you are visible in any light condition.
The Macbor Rockster 410 surprises by incorporating a traction control which increases security and confidence. This is a plus since it offers extra stability without compromising the classic style of this bobber.
Test Macbor Rockster 410 – Consumption and Autonomy: Suitable for Long Distances
If something surprises about the Macbor Rockster 410 is its efficiency in terms of consumption. During the test, the average consumption was about 4-4.5 liters per 100 km, which, combined with its 17-liter tank (larger than what we are used to on this type of motorcycle), allows you to travel long distances without worry about constantly refueling. This is a great advantage if you plan to use it for longer routes or as a daily motorcycle, since its autonomy is above average for motorcycles of this displacement.
On my trips through the city and on the highway, the motorcycle behaved efficiently and I never had that feeling that the engine was consuming more than it should. In fact, one of the strong points of this bike is precisely its relationship between power and consumptionwhich allows you to enjoy long journeys without sacrificing too much fuel.
Test Macbor Rockster 410 – Road Behavior: Relaxed but Precise
The Macbor Rockster 410 It is a motorcycle that asks to be driven calmly, enjoying the landscape and every curve along the way. Its chassis and suspension configuration are designed to offer comfortable and stable handling.
At the front, it has a 41 mm inverted telescopic fork, with 120 mm of travel, while at the back we find a double shock absorber with a separate reservoir. This configuration works quite well to absorb the imperfections of the asphalt, although like a good bobber, on very irregular terrain you will notice the bumps a little more, given that the rear suspension is somewhat more rigid.
As for the curves, the agility with which the motorcycle handles is surprising. Although the bobber design can sometimes give the impression that you are riding a long and heavy motorcycle, the Rockster 410 It feels agile in turns and with good stability on straight lines. We are not talking about a sports bike, but it has that balanced behavior that allows you to take corners with confidence, without effort and without feeling like you lack control.
The wide tires (120/80-17 front and 150/70-17 rear) help this feeling of stability, in addition to providing that classic look that so characterizes bobbers. On wet roads, I had no problems with grip, although I always recommend keeping in mind that, with this type of bike, extreme inclines are not its forte.
