This type of inspection is of great importance to preserve road safety, since it evaluates the good condition of the most important components of the vehicle. However, there is a lot of absenteeism and we also see important differences in price between the autonomous communities. The ITV is under regional jurisdiction, with public management in some and private management in others. We are going to reveal the cheapest ones to help the user save.
Like every year, FACUA does a study on the different ITV rates. This year it has been detected that it can be more than twice as expensive in some places than in others, with up to 209.7% difference in gasoline passenger cars. For those diesel there is not as much, but still the deviation reaches 125.7%. It has also been possible to see a increase in inspection price compared to the previous year, as it increases around 10%. The average for gasoline is 39.29 euros and for diesel is 47.12 euros.
Let’s get into the matter by saying the most expensive ones. Among gasoline, it is advisable to avoid Euskadi, which has the maximum price of 52.68 euros. It is closely followed by others such as Madrid with 52.50 euros on average and Ceuta with 50.14 euros. For those looking for good prices on gasoline cars, Mallorca is the cheapest with 17.01 euros (each island council sets its rate). Also interesting are the 21.10 euros in Andalusia (39.34 euros for engines over 1.6 liters) and the 29.25 euros in Extremadura if they are stations operated by the Administration (42.48 euros for private ones).
For the diesel part, the Community of Madrid is the most expensive with a price of 66.02 euros. In the capital, the service is liberalized and rates are set without regional regulation, which is why they will always be above average. They are followed by Ceuta with 59.48 euros on average and Cantabria with 55.24 euros. Among the cheapest we find Extremadura with its 29.25 eurosfollowed by Mallorca with 30.92 euros and Andalusia with 34.21 euros if they are passenger cars of less than 1,600 cc.
