The most sympathetic tribute to a legendary saga

What began as a simple curiosity in an exhibition stand, has become a creative demonstration of the potential of electrification combined with Suzuki sports DNA. This tiny e-po disguised as GSX-R is not just an aesthetic anecdote: it is a declaration of intentions, a bridge between the Racing legacy of the brand and a more sustainable future, but no less exciting.

Suzuki’s proposal was not a simple aesthetic exercise. This demonstration vehicle, carefully prepared with an almost obsessive detail attention, reproduced on a reduced scale aesthetics of the GSX-R1000R competition that competes in the CN Challenge category (an initiative of the brand that mixes races, sustainability and biofuels).

This amusement is the Suzuki e-Po GSX-R CN Challenge

Despite its tiny size and the electric origin, this version Mini looked a complete fairing that accurately imitated the colors, sponsors of sponsors and aggressive lines of its older circuit sister. It even included such specific details as a simulated escape with finishing Yoshimuracommemorative adhesives of the 40th anniversary of the GSX-R and functional frontal lighting integrated in a redesigned body.

The technical basis of this nice prototype is none other than Suzuki e-poa small folding electric bicycle launched in Japan a few years ago as a solution of light and compact urban mobility. The e-po Mount an electric motor Panasonic and a 16 Ah lithium battery that gives it an autonomy oriented to urban paths.

The original chassis, manufactured in aluminum alloy, has been modified here with an additional structure that allows integrating the new fairing and providing it with a purely sporty appearance.

The tires were also changed to some Bridgestone HOOP of 10 inches, with measures 80/90-10 both in front and behind, which contributes to give it a stronger and more robust air. Although at its base it remains an electric bicycle with assisted pedaling, its appearance does not leave anyone indifferent, and raises an interesting reflection on how brands can play with their inheritance to connect with new audiences.

Although for now this «Mini GSX-R»Electric does not have signs of reaching serial production, the truth is that it has aroused a significant interest between collectors, fans and brand lovers. Not only because of its sympathy, but by the message it transmits: the passion for sports motorcycles is not at odds with electrification, sustainability and design.

In this sense, the initiative of Suzuki It is part of its CN Challenge project, which aims to develop competition technologies that significantly reduce carbon emissions.

In fact, the CN Challenge team has returned to compete this year in Suzuka using a 100% biofuel from biogas, thus reaffirming its commitment to carbon neutrality without giving up performance.
