Sid LalCEO of Royal Enfield, has been in charge of “putting a face” to the long-awaited Guerrilla 450, after publishing a post on his social networks where he appears posing next to the latest novelty of the Indo-British firm. In a second image he is seen in full action on the back of the brand’s new creation.
The official launch of the Guerrilla 450 is scheduled for Next July 17th in Barcelonaas confirmed by Lal himself and the company’s CEO, Govindarajan Balakrishnan.
The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is another of the models promised by the brand. Developed on the platform that was recently launched with the Himalayan 450, the brand has focused on offering a more versatile, simple and affordable motorcycle than the aforementioned ADV. In addition, the focus of the motorcycle is almost exclusively oriented towards road use.
Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 in detail
After recently seeing the most personal vision of the model, in the form of a render, by virtual artist Pratyush Rout, we can now get a more precise idea of what the Guerrilla 450 will offer us from next July 17, when it will be launched on the market. From the start, we can see that we are looking at a mount of Street-Scrambler stylewhich stands out for its fluid lines, a comfortable riding position and a set adorned by its general simplicity.
As we already argued in the article where we analyzed “The 5 changes of the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 compared to the Himalayan 450”, the new Royal bike shares a good part of components with its range sister. Although in this case, the brand presents us with a totally different concept compared to the ADV model. Although they use the same structural part that makes up the chassis and mechanics, from there the neo-roadster model stands out totally in terms of aesthetics.
In any case, we find the same double-beam frame but completely redesigned and responsible for housing the new engine called “Sherpa 450”. This is presented as the first liquid-cooled engine of the brand. The new single-cylinder 451.65 cc is capable of generating 40 HP at 8,000 rpm and deliver a maximum torque of 40 Nm at 5,500 rpm, being associated with a 6-speed gearbox with anti-rebound clutch and an electronic accelerator Ride By Wire.
However, the biggest changes to the Guerrilla 450 are seen in its chassis, where it opts for a conventional telescopic fork at the front. The wheels are 17” alloy and are fitted with road tyres. The braking system and ABS system are shared with the new generation Himalayan.
Finally, we find a somewhat more basic level of equipment than in the brand’s Offroad model, where LED lighting, a one-piece bench seat and a TFT instrument panel made up of a single sphere stand out.
Its official price in India is estimated to be around Rs 250,000, about 2,800 euros at the exchange rate20% below the official price of the Himalayan 450.
