It’s been exactly a year and a half since we gave you an account of Voge’s plans with this RR660Suntil it finally became an official model of the Asian brand. Then, in March of last year 2023, the brand only showed the first sketches of its future sports car at a convention organized with a good part of the local distributors.
In September, the first concept of the model was exhibited and with it the most important technical data that would ultimately shape it were revealed. Its new four-cylinder in-line engine with approximately 660 cc, more than 1000 hp, was particularly noteworthy. 100 hp at 13,000 rpm and a speed of over 240 km/h. All this accompanied by high quality components from brands such as Brembo, Kayaba and Pirelli.
The Voge RR660S arrives in its final version
The last news we had about the RR660S was last April, where it was confirmed that the well-known four-cylinder engine 663 ccthe first of the brand with this configuration, would finally offer around 100 HP of maximum power. Performance that a priori should easily move the 215 kilos dry weight declared by Voge. With a wheelbase of 1,450 mm Reference was also made to some of the main components of its cycle part.
The KYB suspensions are particularly noteworthy, with an inverted front fork and a double Brembo brake disc actuated by 4-piston calipers. At the rear, an adjustable monoshock and a single disc actuated by a double-piston caliper would take care of these tasks. In addition, the technological elements intended to complement the technical part were also detailed, with the adoption of traction systems and ABS or a latest-generation IMU, among others.
Now it has been our colleagues at Cycle World who have definitively confirmed the official presentation of the Voge RR660S on the occasion of the CIMA 2024 Chinese motor show. With this event, the most notable aspects of the set are finally leaked, such as the maximum displacement of its engine, with 663 cc, thanks to internal diameter and stroke measurements of 67mm x 47mmpractically the same as those shown by the engine integrated in the current CBR650R.
The brand finally declares a maximum power of 99 HP for 220 kilograms in running order. Maintaining the cycle part already mentioned, it also includes top-level equipment where we find, among others, a full-color TFT dashboard, driving modes (Normal and Sport) and even an operational exhaust system where we can adjust the sound based on the positioning of the exhaust valve.
On the other hand, we lose the single-sided swingarm that was shown in the initial design, keeping the shapes of its fibers almost unchanged. These have well-marked lines that enhance the sporty philosophy that the model aims for. This is helped, for example, by the front spoilers in the form of air intakes, or the color schemes chosen by the brand to decorate its latest creation.
Now we have to ask ourselves if the Voge RR660S will finally reach the European markets and if so, when does the brand plan to start marketing the model. Taking into account that we have EICMA 2024 just around the corner, perhaps the first bars of 2025 will be the right date for its debut within the limits of the old continent.
