The Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Editiona limited edition motorcycle indicated for the most enthusiastic collectors of the Bologna firm, comes as a tribute of gratitude and love to the Superquadro engine of Ducati.
It is equipped with the most advanced twin-cylinder engine the factory has ever produced, with a heritage that dates back more than thirty years to the 90° V2 engines with desmodromic four-valve distribution. This limited edition celebrates its history, culminating in the first Supersport world title won by Nicolo Bulega.
These engines have been the essence of the Ducati Superbikes and Supersport, giving life to iconic models such as the 748, 749, 848, 899 and 959until reaching the current one Panigale V2.
The first Superquadro engine appeared in 2011 with the 1199 PanigaleOver the years, this engine has evolved, including smaller displacement versions such as the 898 and then the 955. The technical solutions of the Superquadro twin-cylinder engine have set new standards.
The crankcases were made from Vacural casting, with pressed aluminium cylinder liners coated with NikaSil, allowing the cylinders to be embedded in the crankcases. The cylinder head, clutch covers and sump pan are made from magnesium, contributing to an extremely compact and rigid engine, part of a chassis based on a monocoque frame.
The desmodromic distribution adopted rocker arms «super finishes» with DLC treatment, reducing friction and increasing fatigue resistance. The mixed chain/gear drive has set new benchmarks in terms of efficiency and reliability. In the Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Editionthe Superquadro engine is 955 cc, offering 155 HP at 10,750 rpm and a torque of 104 Nm at 9,000 rpm.
The design of the Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition The Ducati logo is used in the signature colours of white, red, black and grey. The curve of the shield on the fairing is elongated to match the shape of the bike, while the number plate follows its contour. The matt grey of the tank contrasts with the colours of the fairing. Furthermore, the design is completed by a seat adorned with elegant embroidery.
Safety and control are guaranteed by electronic equipment including ABS Cornering EVO, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 2, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, Ducati Quick Shift up/down (DQS) EVO 2 and Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO.
The technical basis of the Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Editionwith its aluminum monocoque chassis, is complemented by suspensions Ohlins and a steering damper from the same brand. The Rizoma footrests are adjustable and made of machined aluminum. The fins, the end of the silencer, the chain guard, the clutch cover protection, the swingarm and the shock absorber are made of carbon fiber. Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition It comes in a single-seater configuration with sports grips. To top it off, the animation of the scoreboard and the ignition key are exclusive to this model.
For track use, a kit to remove the number plate and mirrors can be fitted, together with a machined aluminium racing fuel cap, supplied with the bike. It is also fitted with a GPS module for DDA data collection.
Like all Ducati of collection, the Panigale V2 Superquadro Final Edition includes a certificate of authenticity, the number engraved on the machined aluminum seat post (total of 555 units) and, to top it off, a personalized cover. The Final Edition will be available in Spanish dealerships in October of this year.
