The Segway electric motorcycle that wants to revolutionize offroading arrives with a virtual clutch and cutting-edge features

The new Xaber 300the latest plug-in model from Segway, arrives just a few months after being shown for the first time at CES 2026. As the brand warned then, it would be in the early stages of spring when its marketing would officially begin.

And it seems that that moment has already arrived, although it will not be until next May 15 when it will definitely go on sale at authorized Segway dealers in the US.

Segway Xaber 300 in detail

Although we already know the main aspects of the new Xaber 300, with the officialization of its commercial debut, Segway has provided all the details about its striking electric model for practicing MX. Starting with the final power, 21kW and a weight of only 85kg. They affirm from the Yankee firm itself that “The Xaber 300 has the best power-to-weight ratio in its class.” Its maximum torque statesspeed, 600 Nm, is another good indicator of this statement.

Specifically 0.25 kW/kg, which translates into a maximum speed of 96km/h and an acceleration of 0 to 80 km/h in 5.5 seconds. This gives it, among other things, agile and intuitive handling. To achieve these performance figures, the Segway MX has a Custom Mid-Drive motor combined with a high-performance battery of 72V and 44Ah with Samsung 50S lithium cells and a capacity of more than 3 kWh.

This technical platform allows users to choose between power configurations and performance similar to a 150, 200 and 300 cc motorcycle respectively. The Xaber 300 also features a “Beast Mode” to unlock maximum performance and power curve customization of Pro Mode.

Furthermore, as a novelty, a virtual electronic clutch simulates the operation of a mechanical one, offering a plus to the driving experience. All this with up to 100 km of autonomy on a single charge when we are using the “150 mode”. On the other hand, without forgetting the importance of both the cycle and the electronic part on a motorcycle like this, the Xaber 300 has everything necessary in both sections.

Starting with the first, it uses a 6000 series high-pressure forged aluminum racing chassis that combines a lightweight design with a torsional rigidity of 1,621.4 Nm/degree. For its part, the Marzocchi Custom suspensions have up to 220 mm of travel on both axles. Up front we find a customized inverted fork with 37 millimeter bars.

At the rear the Segway model uses a shock absorber coupled to a centrally mounted multi-link rear suspension system. Both the fork and the latter offer fully adjustable compression, rebound and preload. The assembly is suspended on radial wheels measuring 19” at the front and 17” at the rear respectively. The braking system is anchored to these, consisting of two 220 x 3 mm discs actuated by four-piston calipers.

Advertise the brand that “More features will be included via over-the-air (OTA) updates, such as a virtual wheelie trainer, allowing riders to set the maximum wheelie angle in the app to progress their skills… Future updates will also include Rider Control Mode, with the ability to set maximum speed limits, location tracking, geo fencing and real-time monitoring through the app.”
