Yamaha Offroad Competition Range 2025 in detail
Yamaha YZ450F 2025
The YZ450F 2025 The new rear suspension linkage is fitted to improve stability in a wide variety of driving circumstances. This, combined with revised rear suspension settings, contributes to improved traction when exiting corners, and a more planted feel when taking jumps.
Complementing the changes made to the rear, the front suspension settings have also been updated, including extending the spring length to increase internal preload pressure, changing the layered valves from the current circular shape to a more triangular shape, and increasing the size of the oil intake ports to adjust oil flow.
The result is a more stable front end and increased overall handling of the bike. Changes to the front suspension have also been revised to provide the rider with a more consistent damping feel in mixed terrain and riding situations, especially under braking and cornering.
New front engine mounts have been designed to improve overall chassis balance, whilst accommodating changes made to the suspension, altering the chassis stiffness to make it less susceptible to external forces, ultimately improving stability.
To further enhance the YZ450F’s renowned reliability under hard, sustained use, clutch cooling efficiency has been improved by tripling the number of holes feeding oil to the clutch plates from six to 18.
The riding experience has also been refined, with a newly designed seat featuring a single layer of surface material with a seamless design, eliminating joins and welds, while new aluminium footpeg mounts allow for a greater sense of unity with the machine thanks to a firmer hold on the chassis.
The newly designed handlebar switch box features a ribbed shape to prevent riders from pressing the wrong button while wearing gloves. And to take pressure off the rider’s right thumb, the 2025 YZ450F features a new type of throttle grip set. The addition of a new ECU1 anti-theft locking function increases safety, while a new and improved battery improves efficiency.
In line with new FIM noise regulations for 2025, the YZ450F’s noise level has been reduced thanks to a new exhaust system. And by optimising the fuel supply and ignition timing, controllability and throttle engagement have been improved to provide a more precise riding character.
All of this can be fine-tuned using the Power Tuner1 app, allowing the rider to customise their machine’s set-up, such as making changes to both engine and suspension settings based on their personal needs. New graphics complete the 2025 look, while those wanting to emulate their MXGP heroes can opt for the Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Edition, inspired by the colours of the official Yamaha MXGP team.
Yamaha YZ250F
Within the new Yamaha Offroad Competition 2025 range, the YZ250F has undergone a major update for this season that includes an all-new chassis derived from the YZ450F, plus revised geometry and a repositioned steering head, which lowers the centre of gravity to allow for more agile cornering and quick changes of direction.
For 2025 this has been further refined with a new rear suspension linkage and corresponding suspension settings at both the rear and front, improving traction out of corners and taking the YZ250F’s famously agile handling to the next level on track.
As on the YZ450F, the exhaust system has been redesigned to produce a lower noise level, in line with the 2025 FIM noise regulations. In addition, the power characteristics have been refined to produce a smooth, controllable low-end response and a linear mid-range.
The Power Tuner1 app allows fine-tuning of the YZ250F’s power characteristics for a personalised riding experience. The instrument cluster and throttle housing have been redesigned to improve the rider experience by minimising the risk of pressing the wrong button with gloves on, while new graphics complete the look in Icon Blue.
