On the occasion of the recently held Osaka Motor Show, Yamaha publicly presented this body kit for its XSR900 decorated with a racing livery which they have named under the commercial name “US Intercolor”. In the image and likeness of the well-known Speedblock graphics, it is clearly inspired by those decorations that Kenny Roberts once wore throughout the 1980s.
XSR900 “US Intercolor” kit in detail
Not many details have been revealed about this striking “US Intercolor” body kit for the XSR900. In fact, the brand has not yet announced the final price or the exact moment in which it will launch it on the market. Needless to say, it is not clear that we can enjoy it in the European market, an aspect that Yamaha must ultimately confirm.
In any case, comparing it with other similar kits that the Japanese brand has already launched on the market designed to enhance the curves of its neo retro frame, this one has some of the accessories developed by the Japanese specialist Y’s Gear. Among them, the front dome and the rear tail stand out. In the case of this “US Intercolor” equipment configuration, Yamaha announces up to seven available references.
In addition to the two accessories already mentioned, it also has a front fender, fuel tank housing (presented in two independent parts) and the side covers that are just below the seat. The chosen color scheme combines the typical corporate competition colors that the brand has used throughout its history in different speed tests: yellow, black and white.
That said, we must remember that for this same season the XSR900 GP 2026 was also presented sporting a similar graphic scheme and which the brand has commercially called in our country as Legend Yellow. Like this striking “US Intercolor”, it pays tribute to the sporting exploits of the incomparable “King” Kenny Roberts at the controls of the iconic YZR500.
