Getting a Ducati collection is neither easy nor cheap, but if you have enough resources now you have the opportunity before you. And on October 30 there will be an auction at the National Motorcycle Museum of England, managed by H&H Classic and which will have, among other protagonists, a Ducati collection.
And a single owner had six beautiful, spectacular and exclusive motorcycles from the Italian firm in his possession and is now going to get rid of them. Furthermore, before introducing you to each and every one of them, the striking thing is that the entire collection is not going to be auctioned, but rather each Ducati could go to a different owner, since the auction is not a lot.
Having made the presentations, it must be said that of these six motorcycles that make up the Ducati collection there are two important historical models, two limited editions and two replicas of WSBK motorcycles. That is to say, they are not “simple” Ducati, but they also have added value.
We review the Ducati collection piece by piece
But that means that the price that is expected to be raised for them is out of place, at least as the H&H Classic website points out today, since there is an estimate for each model and we can say that despite the iconic and special models the prices are moderate.
Ducati 851 1990
It depends on how old you are, some may catch your attention more than others, but we are going to start in chronological order to review the motorcycles that will be auctioned. The first is a Ducati 851 from 1990, the first year it was in production and it has something peculiar which is the fact that the chassis is white. It is a used model with 20,140 kilometers and they hope to raise between 5,000 and 7,000 pounds for it.
Ducati 888 SP5
The second motorcycle in this Ducati collection may be the jewel in the crown for the most nostalgic. We are talking about the mythical 888 SP5, the original model was the replacement for the 851, but the SP5 version is the last one before the mythical 916 was launched. Of this motorcycle, which is from 93, only 500 units were manufactured and this is number 153 and they hope to raise between 14,000 and 16,000 pounds.
Ducati 748 Biposto 1995
We move forward only two years, to 1995 to find the next motorcycle that represented a radical change. It is not a superbike but a supersport, but it is mythical all the same. We are talking about the 1995 Ducati 748, which in this case is the Biposto version. It has just over 7,000 kilometers and would be a bargain if its price ends up being between the 4,000 and 5,000 pounds they expect.
Ducati Superlight 900 1997
Only 309 units of this motorcycle were produced and this is number 44. It is a Ducati Superlight 900 from 1997 with about 16,000 kilometers on the clock and up-to-date care. Another gem at a low cost if expectations are met and someone ends up getting it for between 4,500 and 5,500 pounds.
Ducati 916 SPS Carl Fogarty Replica 1999
For those of us who were teenagers in the late 90s, this is, without a doubt, the most spectacular of all. We are talking about a Ducati 916 SPS Carl Fogarty Replica from 1999. It is unit 98 of 202 and goes up in price to 13,000-15,000 pounds, a limited amount because the bike needs to be updated after having been stopped for a while.
Ducati 998S Ben Bostron Replica 2002
We finish the Ducati collection with the most modern, a Ducati 998S Ben Bostron Replica of which 155 units were launched in the United Kingdom. This is number 70 and the estimated price range is between £15,000 and £17,000. With 7,000 kilometers traveled, this 2002 motorcycle is the only one from the new century, and the last one you can get until October 30.
