This design of a future Honda model looks like an economical Neo-Retro version of its current CB300R

Recently, Honda has requested the registration of a patent, in India, for what looks like a CB300R in Neo-retro version. That is why local media such as Rush Lane have had doubts as to whether the brand with the golden wing plans a 2025 variant of the model, or, on the contrary, is working on a more classic-looking option than the standard version to compete directly. with the queen of the segment, the Royal Enfield Hunter 350.

New CB300R in sight?

The point is that, if we let ourselves be guided by the images from the patent registry, there is no doubt that the possible version of the current CB300R shares many of its key elements with the model currently marketed by Honda. However, there are others that leave no doubt that we would be talking about a new model.

For example, the engine that equips the registration image, in this case air-cooled and not water-cooled, as is the case with the CB300R that is currently part of the Honda range. There are also changes in finishing and comfort elements, such as the seat, in this case in a single piece, the instrument panel or the final shape of the keel.

On the contrary, the wheels, the headlight and the front inverted fork system remain unchanged. However, the registration image has a somewhat different fuel tank in design, as well as the lateral fibers on the back or the front covers that we find below the tank. The shapes of the flashing equipment also change, now circular.

Everything indicates that, just as Triumph has done with its range of small-medium displacement Modern Clasiccs, now with Low Cost versions of the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X models, Honda could be working on a similar concept with its CB300R as protagonist.

Is Honda planning a Neo-Retro version of its current CB300R?

In some way we would be looking at a version halfway between the latter and its recently launched GB350S 2025, equipped with an air-cooled single-cylinder engine. Even a combination of both, taking advantage of the cycle part of the CB300R and the mechanics and finishes of the newly released vintage frame.

Be that as it may, we will have to wait for the brand to rule on the issue, although everything indicates that we would be facing a model intended for certain markets where the Japanese firm operates.
