Production has begun at the Borgo Panigale plant of the new Monster 2026, the fifth generation of the model. A motorcycle born in 1992 from a brilliantly simple formula: «Everything you need, without additives». A concept that has united motorcyclists from all over the world in a new family, who for more than thirty years have continued to celebrate the spirit and identity of the Monster 2026.
Ducati Monster 2026: The evolution of a myth
The new Monster 2026, completely redesigned, combines lightness and technology with an unmistakable aesthetic. Its design reinterprets the style of the first Monster in a modern key, recovering the distinctive elements that have always characterized it: the headlight framed by the “shoulders” of the tank in the shape of a bison back, the one-piece seat and the short and light rear section.
Thanks to its V-twin engine, the 2026 model is characterized by very low running costs. The new V2 is light and high-performance, thanks to the IVT (Intake Variable Timing) distribution, which combines smoothness at low revs, thrust at mid-range and power at high revs: 80% of the maximum torque is available between 4,000 and 10,000 rpm. The valve clearance check interval of 45,000 km, an absolute benchmark in the category, keeps maintenance costs very low.
The new Monster 2026 uses the engine as a structural element and adopts a monocoque frame, with a double swingarm inspired by the Panigale V4 and a technopolymer and multi-tubular rear subframe. This technical arrangement, thanks to the lightness of the Ducati V2, reduces weight by 4 kg (175 kg drythe lightest of all four-valve models), improving agility and ease of handling.
The Showa suspension is tuned to guarantee daily comfort and sporty performance on winding roads, confirming the double soul of Ducati’s naked bike. The result is a motorcycle that is always stable, safe and fun. The 2026 Monster offers a more accessible and comfortable riding position thanks to a lower seat compared to the previous model and a higher, more forward handlebar that improves control and comfort.
The four driving modes (Sport, Road, Urban, Wet) and the advanced electronic package with DTC, DWC, EBC and cornering ABS make it intuitive and versatile. The ergonomic handlebar controls simplify the management of electronic functions on a 5-inch TFT screen, prepared for the Ducati Multimedia System and turn-by-turn navigation, with dual day/night mode and Road and Road Pro Info modes that optimize readability in all conditions.
To inspire those who want to personalize their 2026 Monster, Ducati Performance offers numerous accessories that enhance its aesthetics, such as carbon fiber details or machined aluminum parts, as well as a sports seat with Alcantara upholstery. Sports enthusiasts will also appreciate the approved titanium silencers and carbon caps, developed in collaboration with Termignoni, which reduce weight (-0.2 kg) and unmistakably enhance the character of the Monster.
The 2026 Monster will be available in dealerships starting February 2026and later in other countries, in two colors: Ducati Red and Iceberg White, both in the Monster 2026 version and in the Monster+ 2026, equipped with a front deflector and a cover for the passenger seat. Both are also available in a 35 kW version for drivers with an A2 licence.
