Despite the bad financial situation that KTM is going through, his expected collaboration with Brabus in the form of 1400 R 202it seems to be closer than ever. That is at least our conclusion after knowing the last details of the project, recently published by international media such as Cycle World. Everything indicates that Brabus would have already requested the registration of his new mount in the US patent office, as well as in the US Environmental Protection Agency. (EPA).
This means that the German coach could be planning the launch of the new model in the Yankee market, something, on the other hand, which does not finally happen with the previous generation 1300 R.
In any case, and regardless of where the new 1400 R 2025 is finally released, it will be developed on the same technical platform that gives life to the 1390 Super Duke R Evo.
Brabus 1400 R 2025: A highly anticipated return
As happened in the 2022 season and later in 2023, the collaboration between Brabus and KTM employs the Maxinked project of the Austrian brand, which at that time is the flagship of its range. Previously with 1300 R they turned to the platform that mounted the 1290 Super Duke R and this time they will do the same with the current 1390 Super Duke R Evo.
We must remember that the latter equips the portentous V2 to 75º of 1,350 cc equipped with a new CAM SHIFT system integrated into the cylinder head that adjusts the valve opening time based on the turn regime. The brand declares 190 hp at 10,000 rpm and 145 nm of maximum torque at 8,000 turnswith an average approved consumption of 5.9 l/100 kilometers.
It is expected that, as already happened with the 1300 R, the new 1400 R 2025 has a custom body with carbon fiber details, as well as a specific tire equipment, improved exhaust system or a part of the cycle equipped with even more pointers than in the 1390 super duke. Given all this, and the speed that the other two editions of this collaboration were sold, it is likely that the new 1400 R 2025 will be exhausted in minutes from the moment it is officially launched.
Now we only have to wait for Brabus to put a date on the calendar for the launch of its new 1400 R 2025, and of course it is officially officially paid to be able to get some of the few units that will compose this exclusive special and limited edition.
