A few years have passed since we first echoed this Ducati MHR1000 “Rino Caracchi Tribute”, work of the transalpine specialist Stile Italiano. Already then, the now head of the place, expressed his emotion at such a monument, somehow excusing the technical and cultural sacrilege of using a 1984 900 MHR replica as the platform for the project.
The Ducati MHR1000 “Rino Caracchi Tribute” can now be yours
I am not going to be the one to contradict his arguments (from the account he brings me), given how well explained the history that surrounds this elitist preparation “Rino Caracchi Tribute”, in honor of the legendary NCR, the company founded in 1967 by Giorgio Nepoti, Rino Caracchi and Rizzi. The purpose of the latter was to make the Ducati of the moment truly competitive machines.
In fact, they were the creators of the Ducati 900 TTI with which Mike Hailwood emerged victorious in 1978 in the Tourist Trophy. So, as you will understand, Stile Italiano is forgiven for anything that revolves around this very special preparation. As the new owner of the Ducati MHR Mille would say: “Fuck the purists.”
In any case, focusing on the motorcycle that stars in these lines, it is currently for sale on the exclusive Collecting Cars auction portal. And it is right there where we can gather all the necessary information about this iconic MHR1000 “Rino Caracchi Tribute”.
For example, it is powered by a 973 cc air-cooled L-twin engine, with a bevel gear transmission, fed by carburetors and associated with a five-speed gearbox. Also that this “Rino Caracchi Tribute” has a custom-made aluminum body and a series of important modifications to the chassis and transmission.

All this without forgetting other notable aspects, such as:
- Öhlins FG950 front fork
- Ducati 888 triple seatposts
- Öhlins central rear shock absorber
- Brembo Oro Series Braking
- Replica wheels of the five-spoke magnesium Marvic that it originally mounted
- CNC-made footrests, handlebars or seatpost, etc.

To complete this technical and visual orgy, it is worth highlighting, as described in the advertisement itself, that “the motorcycle is finished in red with silver details and gold edges, and a black padded seat”. In addition, with the sale of this “Rino Caracchi Tribute” it is included “a cover for the motorcycle, a stand, magazines with information about the motorcycle, a Gooloo starter kit and a CTEK charger”and even a license plate with the numbering “MHR 716”.
It is not clear to us what the final price of this gem will be; What we do know is that it will not be easy or cheap to get hold of it. In any case, and as advice of the day: “money does not buy happiness”or so says the same person who told me to write this news at seven this morning.
Leave me your opinion about it in comments…
