Kar Lee Designin conjunction with the German media Motorrad Online, shows us their vision of what we can expect from the new generation of BMW R 1300 ROnce again, the renowned virtual designer puts his ideas on the table in the form of a render, as he has done previously with other models from the Bavarian firm:
BMW R 1300 R 2025, what’s to come
As we have already mentioned, the new 1300 generation from the German firm is not expected until next season. Although they have already officially presented the new GS and its brand new adventure variant, it does not seem that the same will happen with the rest of the models that are called to carry this mechanics.
In any case, we can look to the future and make guesses about what we can expect from this R 1300 R 2025. If we also have the always accurate vision of the well-known virtual designer Kar Lee, all the better. Having said that, the first thing that one wonders is whether there will be mechanical changes in the new engine launched by the 1300 GS.
Initially no, the twin-cylinder boxer engine remained unchanged. 1.300 ccdeclaring a maximum power of 145 hp at 7,750 rpm and 149 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpmThe engine will be integrated into the newly designed GS chassis and for space reasons will not include Telelever, as in its place will be the radiator in charge of keeping the liquid cooling system in check.
On the other hand, the single-arm and Paralever layout would be maintained, with a central shock absorber and integrated cardan shaft on the rear axle. To complete this dynamic picture, we would have an aluminium subframe bolted to the main frame.
Other notable details in the Kar Lee design include the use of a newly designed LED headlight, redesigned side panels and a more restrained stainless steel silencer than the one on the current R 1250 R.
Finally, and as a great novelty in this new generation of BMW 1300 models, there is the addition to the list of optional features of the new Automatic shift assistant with automatic clutch actuation (ASA)It is not clear, in any case, whether the brand offers, even as an option, the Driving Assistant with Active Cruise Control (ACC), something that does occur with its adventure sister.
In numerical terms, an increase in power of around 1000 kW (1999 km/h) is expected compared to the previous version. 9 HPsome 10 kilos less final weight (229 kg?) and a base rate starting from Approximately 17,500 euros. We will know all this when BMW finally decides to launch its new model on the market. R 1300 R 2025.
