More than a training center, the Honda Security Institute It is a symbol of the firm and lasting commitment of Sling With the life of motorists. In an era where motorcycle has ceased to be a simple vehicle to become a key mobility solution in cities, centers such as His They are fundamental to ensure that this change occurs safely, conscious and sustainable.
Thirty years later, what began as a small pedagogical experiment is today an international reference. And best of all, its history is not over: it has only changed marching.
The educational vocation of the project was manifested from the beginning. The school initially focused on the youngest (boys and girls between 14 and 16 years old), who at that time could already legally circulate with mopeds. Through agreements with schools and institutes, Sling He organized free didactic sessions that combined theory in the classroom with practice in Scooter.
A clear commitment to introduce the culture of safe motorcycling from the base, and that helped thousands of adolescents to familiarize themselves with responsible driving before throwing themselves alone to the asphalt.
In parallel to local work, Sling He chose to go one step further: train his instructors directly in Japan, where the brand already had a long tradition in road safety. This formation allowed to incorporate its own pedagogical method, with international standards, but adapted to the reality of European roads.
That decision was key to establishing a solid and coherent educational identity, perfectly aligned with the global philosophy of the brand: that no one should get on a motorcycle without adequate preparation.
Honda Institute of Security. Santa Perpètua de Mogoda
The evolution of the center was parallel to the growth of concern for road accidents. In 1996, with the transfer of Honda Spain to Santa Perpètua de Mogoda, its own installation with specific tracks, classrooms and vehicles destined for training was inaugurated. The embryo of His It was beginning to take shape with more resources, space and ability to serve new user profiles, including adults who began in driving medium -cylinder motorcycles.
The turning point came in 2009, after an investment of 4 million euros and three years of development. Then the Honda Security Institute in its current form. That is, more than 20,000 m² dedicated exclusively to training, with a 1,500 m² corporate building, simulators, workshops, multimedia classrooms and specialized circuits.
It was not just a training center, it was a laboratory designed to improve coexistence on the road and reduce accidents through knowledge.

It is not just about knowing how to stop, draw or maintain balance; It’s about understanding what decisions an accident can avoid. From the classroom theory to surface exercises with low adhesion or emergency braking simulated with motorcycles equipped with stabilizers, each module is designed to transform habits and reinforce a proactive mentality.
He His Does not discriminate against experience. While he continues to form young people in their first contact with motorcycles (even from 6 years in off-road areas with models Honda CRF adapted), its scope is much greater.
Police, sanitary, firefighters, distributors, instructors and advanced users pass daily through their facilities. Each course is designed according to the student’s level, with evaluations before and then to measure the improvement. In fact, even experienced drivers usually raise their score at least one point after receiving training.
One of the most revealing data is that more than 40 % of those who register do so by direct recommendation of former participants. And it is no accident: the recidivism rate is also significant, with 20 % of motorists who repeat course to continue perfecting their technique.
In total, from the inauguration of the His In 2009, more than 30,000 people have passed through their facilities. The figure continues to grow year after year, especially after the stop of the pandemic, which triggered the demand for courses during the week.
Obviously, the impact of His It has not gone unnoticed. Currently, it is the only motorcycle installation in Spain with the complete quality certification granted by ACEM (Association of European motorcycle manufacturers). In fact, only 32 centers throughout Europe have reached this standard. And none in national territory. This accreditation places His at the height of the best schools on the continent.
The philosophy of Sling It goes beyond the courses. It is about building a new culture of mobility, where each motorist has the knowledge and trust necessary to circulate safely. And that also includes the understanding of modern technologies such as ABS. Despite being mandatory since 2017 in new motorcycles of more than 125 cc, it is estimated that 70 % of the Spanish park still does not have this system. That is why in the His It is taught to drive with and without it, to be prepared in any situation.
