What is already signed
Brad Binder renewed with KTM until 2026, and Ducati He did the same with the champion Francesco Bagnaia. In addition, the Italian factory signed the promise Fermin Aldeguerone of the few pieces left to be placed on the transfer market after the renewal of Fabio Di Ginannantonio with the VR46. Yamaha, for its part, extended the contract of Quartararo for two more years, and Aprilia Racing confirmed the incorporation of Jorge Martin for 2025, replacing Aleix Espargaró.
Ducati gave the bombshell of the year by making official the arrival of Marc Marquez for the 2025 and 2026 seasons as a teammate of reigning champion Pecco Bagnaia. Red Bull KTM Tech3 added to Enea Bastianini and Maverick Vinales to his team by 2025. Aprilia announced to Marco Bezzecchi as his second pilot, while Gresini Racing prolonged the relationship with Alex Marquez until 2026. Yamaha extended the contract of Alex Rinsand Trackhouse Racing promoted the Japanese pilot Ai Ogura by 2025.
The latest move was confirmed at the beginning of this past weekend. The official announcement was finally issued that the Ducati that was yet to be awarded of the VR46 now has an owner. Franco Morbidelli has signed for one year with the Tavullia team.
What is rumored
The motorcycles that are free and waiting for their rider are the following: A Honda in the CSF (Idemitsu), the two Yamahas from Pramac Racing and a Ducati at the Gresini Racing Team. Four motorcycles in total.
Now let’s look at the strongest candidates for each position:
Honda LCR Idemitsu
As we already mentioned in another article recently, the clear candidate for the spot is the Thai Somkiat Chantra. The Moto2 rider could replace Nakagami starting next year without the Japanese brand’s self-imposed obligation to have at least one Asian rider in its ranks being compromised.
Pramac Racing Yamaha
Although nothing has been confirmed yet, it is possible that we will soon see the additions of Jack Miller and Miguel Oliveira to Yamaha’s satellite structure for next year. Both riders no longer have places in their current teams, but all indications point to them remaining in the championship and riding the Japanese brand’s inline-4 engines.
Ducati Gresini Racing Team.
If all the pieces of the board that we have been putting together up to this point are confirmed, this would be the only place where the Murcian rider, Fermín Aldeguer, could end up. A signing that was announced by the Italian factory a few months ago, but in which it was not specified in which structure the current Moto2 rider would ride.
Following the move from Prima Pramac to Yamaha, the possibilities have been drastically reduced, and all signs point to Fermin taking the wheel of Marc Marquez’s current bike from next year.
Well, that’s all the rumours about what’s still available in the transfer market. How many of them have been right? We’ll soon find out!
