It seems that it is only a matter of time before the Triumph Tiger Sport 1200 ends up hitting the market. For this reason, Motorrad colleagues have collaborated once again with Kar Lee to offer their point of view on how this new supertrail could be aesthetically and mechanically, which would arrive to complete Triumph’s Tiger range and give a sportier touch to the bike. the British trails.
It must be remembered that within the Tiger range we do not find any Tiger Sport and that all of them are more focused on a more adventurous and less sporty plane. Furthermore, it is not crazy to think about this path because, in fact, both the 660 and the 850 have a version called Sport that has an even more asphalt touch than the GT and GT Pro versions.
This is the “concept” of the Triumph Tiger Sport 1200
Starting from the basis that we mentioned that there is already a sport version, Kar Lee and Motorrad got to work with great detail. Not only the photo with the montage that we can see, but with other types of data.
For the chassis, according to this vision, that of the Triple 1200 RS would be used and the same would happen with the engine. So, we already know that in this idea of a Tiger Sport 1200 we would have 180 HP and 12 NM of maximum torque and that would give us a motorcycle prepared to compete with other 100% asphalt trails, completely leaving aside what would be the adventure plane.
As for weight, they also estimate that it could be in line with market references, marking a reasonable 230 kg on the scale in running order. So the package would be, always according to this approach that comes to us from Germany, one more option for users looking for sports performance in a motorcycle with a more comfortable position than what a naked bike can offer us and, of course, a sporty.
It would be what the market is already calling “crossover” following the trend of cars with SUVs. That is, using the same platform but with longer suspensions seeking greater comfort for the user.
Something that, in the case of motorcycles and as has been demonstrated with trail bikes, is a reality in which neither space nor comfort nor safety is given up.
