BMW Motorrad has presented the new 2025 BMW R 1300 GS Adventure, significantly redesigned compared to its predecessor. This motorcycle features significant improvements to its engine, chassis, bodywork, design and storage. The 1,300 cc twin-cylinder boxer engine delivers 107 kW (145 hp) at 7,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 149 Nm at 6,500 rpm.
The chassis has been revamped with a sheet steel main frame optimised for increased rigidity and a rear frame made of aluminium tubes and forged parts. The front wheel features the EVO Telelever guide, and the rear features the revised EVO Paralever guide, improving precision and stability. In addition, it features electronic suspension with Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA), which adapts damping and spring rate according to the driving conditions and the selected mode.
The motorcycle offers adaptive ride height control, automatically adjusting the height to suit the conditions for greater comfort without affecting driving dynamics. This system is also available in a comfort version to facilitate accessibility for smaller riders.
The 2025 R 1300 GS Adventure features up to four riding modes: “Rain”, “Road”, “Eco” and “Enduro”, which allow the motorcycle’s characteristics to be adjusted to different road conditions and rider preferences. A highlight is the Automatic Shift Assistant, which makes gear changing easier and will be available as an option from August 2024.
In terms of lighting, the motorcycle comes equipped with a full LED headlight and LED low and high beam, plus four additional LED units for the daytime running light and side lights. It also features LED turn signals integrated into the handguards and rear light cluster.
Another significant development is Dynamic Cruise Control (DCC) with braking function, which includes safety systems such as Active Cruise Control (ACC), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning and the new Rear Collision Warning (RECW). The latter warns following traffic of an impending collision by flashing the hazard warning lights.
The 2025 R 1300 GS Adventure also features a new topcase and aluminium panniers with magnetic couplings that provide electrical connection for USB charging sockets and lighting. The panniers, with a capacity of over 73 litres, are ideal for transporting luggage safely and easily. The 30-litre aluminium fuel tank offers fixing holes for luggage pieces and a hinged mount for a 12-litre tank bag, providing ample protection against wind and weather.
Price of the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure 2025
If you’ve made it this far, you’re probably wondering what the price of the 2025 BMW R 1300 GS Adventure is. Well, it hasn’t been officially announced in Spain yet, but it has been in other countries and, therefore, we can get a rough idea of where things will go, approximately.
We have been able to see that in the UK the price has been made public. There the price of the 1300 GS is 16,470 pounds (19,475 euros) while the new 1300 GS Adventure 2025 announces a price of 18,870 pounds (22,313 euros). If we take into account that in Spain, the price of the 1300 GS starts at 21,750 euros, we can calculate an approximate retail price for the 1300 GS Adventure of around 24,920 euros.
We must bear in mind that this represents an extra cost of 3,200 eurosfor the basic version compared to the standard R 1300 GS (there are also other Adventure versions with better equipment). Of course, if we want to opt for the version with BMW’s new ASA automated transmission, we will have to pay more. In the UK, the price for the Adventure TE ASA is 21,300 pounds (25,194 euros), which means that in Spain we would be talking about 28,130 euros.
If we compare the 2025 R 1300 GS Adventure with its outgoing sister, the R 1250 GS Adventure, it is currently sold at a price of 22,590 euros. The truth is that the jump is of about 2,300 euroswhich doesn’t seem like much if we take into account that the 2025 model is practically new in every way, and offers much more standard equipment, as well as improvements in engine, ergonomics, weight, capacity, etc.
