In theory, there are quite a few reasons why a motorcyclist decides to change his gasoline motorcycle for an electric one like the ones Zero. It is clear that there are more and more of them and each one has their own personal and well-considered reasons: reducing CO2 emissions, saving on fuel and maintenance, and enjoying exceptional performance.
Now, we have spoken to several owners of Zero Motorcycles to learn about their stories and understand why they have opted for zero-emission mobility, an option that is already a real alternative.
What makes a Zero different from the rest?
Of course, one of the main reasons for opting for an electric motorcycle is the growing awareness about climate change and the need for non-polluting vehicles. Enrique Cruztraumatologist at the Granollers hospital and owner of a Zero SR Since 2021, he tells us: “TI had a BMW F800R to commute to work, but decided to buy a Zero to reduce my carbon footprint”. Jordi Cruza well-known chef and motorcycle enthusiast, also joined the change with a Zero S: “With solar panels at home, I can recharge my motorcycle and contribute to the environment”. He also appreciates its low noise level: “It is a fine and elegant sound”.
The absence of noise emissions is also appreciated by other owners, such as Marc Medinaproduction operator and owner of a Zero DS: “My transition to the electric world was almost without realizing it. I discovered Zero Motorcycles through a Telegram channel and fell in love with the whistle of the Zero”.
Another reason is the economic savings, that is obvious. Fernando Tallonpresident of the Zero Motorcycles Club Spain, explains: “At home I have a type 2 charger and recharge my Zero DS It costs only 0.65 euros for a range of 200 km. Even recharging outside is much cheaper than gasoline.”. Marc Medina adds: “I have travelled 45,000 km almost free of charge, recharging for free or at home. Maintenance is also much cheaper than on a combustion motorcycle.”.
Mark Berdomáswho has traveled the entire Iberian Peninsula with his Zero S, commented: “The only economically viable way to use a motorcycle on a daily basis is with a well-built electric one.”. Daniel Monterowith more than 183,000 km on his Zero SR, confirms the durability and reliability of these bikes: “I have traveled to over 10 countries and saved time and money on gas and maintenance”.
The driving experience is another outstanding advantage. Tomás Otero, owner of a Zero DSsays: “I needed agile transportation for my daily commute and the Zero DS meets my needs perfectly. It is a pleasant surprise for its silence, agility and speed.”. Marc Medinaalso highlights: “The smoothness of the ride, the silence and the power are unique.”. Enrique Cruz enjoy your Zero SR for your daily commute: “It has the performance of an 800, with good acceleration and noble behavior on the road.”. Jordi Cruz Add: “The Zero S is a rocket. It’s eco-friendly, electric and a marvel.”.
Finally, what would you say to those skeptical of electric motorcycles? Fernando Tallon reply: “Give it a try! Instant torque and lack of noise make daily transportation more comfortable. Although the initial cost is higher, it is compensated over time. For daily use, it is the best option for costs, maintenance and comfort.”. In addition, the entire range of Zero offers a five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty on parts and batteries.
