World Ducati Week grows without giving up sustainability

World Ducati Week 2026 is already part of the history of the Borgo Panigale brand. The edition dedicated to celebrating Ducati’s centenary became the most crowded and international held to date, with a total of 118,036 attendees arriving from 94 countries during the three days of activity.

Between July 3 and 5, the Misano World Circuit once again became the global epicenter of the Ducati universe. Riders, owners, official clubs, employees, partners and fans shared a weekend marked by motorcycles, competition, spectacle and the feeling of belonging to a community that continues to grow beyond the Italian borders.

The figures reflect the dimension reached by this commemorative edition, but Ducati also wanted to highlight the organizational model developed around the event. For the fifth consecutive edition, World Ducati Week obtained the UNI ISO 20121 certification, the international standard that establishes the requirements to implement a sustainable management system in the organization of events.

The brand had already received this certification in the 2016, 2018, 2022 and 2024 editions. Its renewal at the centenary WDW confirms the continuity of a strategy that tries to balance the growth of the event with responsible management of its economic, social and environmental impacts.

An event that grows with your organization

Receiving more than 118,000 people in just three days represents a considerable logistical challenge. In this case, the organization was not limited to preparing activities within the circuit, but had to coordinate transportation, services, suppliers, local institutions, restaurants, security and health care.

According to Ducati, the result was possible thanks to the joint work of employees, partners, suppliers, administrations and members of the entire value chain linked to World Ducati Week. The management system was subjected to different audits, both during the planning phase and during the development of the event itself.

The process took into account aspects such as inclusion, accessibility, transparency, respect for human rights, reduction of environmental impact and the participation of the different parties involved.

In this way, sustainability was not considered only as a series of isolated measures, but as an integrated criterion in the decision-making and general planning of the WDW.

An open and inclusive World Ducati Week

One of the objectives of World Ducati Week is to bring together fans from very different backgrounds and profiles. Although the event revolves around Ducati, participation is also open to owners of motorcycles from other brands.

The centenary edition offered free entry to attendees from countries not belonging to the European Union and to minors. Specific services aimed at facilitating the participation of people with disabilities were also enabled.

Children also had a relevant space within the program, with activities designed to bring them closer to the world of two wheels in a safe and playful way. The presence of official clubs, distributors and importers from numerous markets also reinforced the international nature of the event.

The social dimension of the event was also present through collaboration with the anti-violence center “ChiAma ChiAma”, belonging to the MondoDonna Onlus association. A part of the income obtained through the luggage service was allocated to this organization to support its activity against gender violence.

At the same time, Ducati carried out awareness-raising actions aimed at employees, collaborators and participants. These initiatives included training sessions and content disseminated through the company’s digital channels with the aim of giving visibility to the sustainable practices applied during the organization.

Electric mobility, less waste and local products

Resource management was another of the pillars of World Ducati Week. Among the measures implemented, the use of electric scooters and scooters for internal travel of the personnel in charge of working during the meeting stood out.

In the catering areas, compostable tableware was used and the consumption of local products was promoted, a decision that also allowed us to strengthen the relationship between the WDW and the territory of the Riviera Romagnola.

The food surpluses generated during the event were recovered and later donated to charities. In addition, the venue had water bottle refill stations, thus reducing the need to use single-use plastic containers.

Coordination with local administrations played a fundamental role. The town councils of Misano Adriatico, Riccione, Rimini and Cattolica collaborated with the organization to manage the arrival of thousands of visitors and maintain activity in an area that, during those days, once again became the heart of the so-called Italian Motor Valley.

Ducati has indicated that the results related to sustainability will be collected in the World Ducati Week Sustainability Report. This document will be made available to interested parties as part of the transparency policy applied during the planning and celebration of the event.

Much more than a motorcycle meeting

The safety and well-being of attendees were also part of the organizational model. World Ducati Week featured specific safety, healthcare and management services aimed at protecting both the public and workers, collaborators and suppliers.

The goal was to offer a safe, inclusive and respectful environment in a celebration that transcends the traditional format of a motorcycle rally.

Because World Ducati Week is not only an opportunity to see the latest Borgo Panigale motorcycles, ride on the circuit or get closer to the brand’s riders. It is also a huge cultural and social meeting point where fans from dozens of countries share the same passion.

The centenary edition has shown that the event can continue to grow without giving up responsible planning. Its 118,036 participants establish a new reference for future editions, while the fifth UNI ISO 20121 certification consolidates an organizational model that aims to evolve at the same pace as the Ducati community.

One hundred years after the birth of the brand, World Ducati Week has celebrated its history by looking forward: with a larger audience than ever, a truly international presence and a commitment to reduce and better manage the impact generated by one of the largest motorcycle events in the world.
