EyeLights, a French company specialized in new technologies, has presented one of its latest projects at EICMA 2024, the Rocket One. A high-performance electric motorcycle with a neo-retro appearance with clear cafe racer overtones that announces some really interesting features: 180 HP of power and 1,200 Nm of maximum torque with 0 to 97 km/h in just 2.6 seconds.
EyeLights Rocket One in detail
This is not all, since the Rocket One claims to be able to travel up to 400 kilometers with each recharge. This is thanks, among other things, to having a battery pack with no less than 21 kWh capacityas explained by the New Atlas colleagues. Designed by Alan Derosierthis explains that:
“For me it was something new and I had no experience in that field. I decided to approach it exactly the same way as with cars. The initial design of the bike revolved around fine-tuning proportions and silhouettes. The result is a performance-oriented bike that houses huge batteries for power delivery and respectable range.”
Without a doubt one of the most striking aspects of this Rocket One is its sculpted silhouette, with a retro image dominated by flat surfaces and a minimalist design. This is combined with the fact that EyeLights is the company that created the EyeRide HUD display, and that is why it has created a specific kit that is combined with the motorcycle itself.
Let us remember that this HUD (head-up display) system can be integrated into any existing helmet. However, EyeLights with its Rocket One seeks to create a totally new experience where the rider, the bike and the helmet’s HUD system work in unison for efficiency.
Returning to the concept presented at EICMA 2024, we can affirm that the brand speaks of performance practically at the level of the most radical naked on the market. However, the astronomical torque figure is not within the reach of any of them, and we do not know how it could be managed when opening the gas fully. Regarding autonomy, it is likely that this initial figure is optimistic to say the least.
Be that as it may, EyeLights argues that its Rocket One is “A unique, high-performance design, ready for production.” We do not know what the next step of the French firm will be, although we can now join a waiting list in which new details about the model will be provided. We will be attentive to any news.
