Aprilia is not a coincidence and the numbers prove it

In the history of Motorcycling, there have always been dominating brands or riders who have imposed their law. But that moment had not come for Aprilia in MotoGP. Yes in 125 and 250, but not in the premier category where it is today. And, at least until Saturday of the Spanish GP to be held in Jerez, they are the leaders of all classifications: Drivers, teams and manufacturers.

Behind this success there is a lot of work, a decade of struggle to get closer to the best and, right now, to be one. And these successes are highlighted with figures, which are making it clear that the fact that Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martín are first and second in the general classification is not circumstantial.

Aprilia and its riders are currently subduing Ducati

And in these first three races of the season, including the Sprint races where Bezzecchi failed, they have added 158 points, which means they are three away from the Ducati record set last year after the first three races. Even so, even more surprising are the 121 consecutive GP laps that Marco Bezzecchi has led. Since Malaysia he has won them all, but also always being the first to cross the finish line from the initial lap.

Aprilia already plays in the league of historical brands

With these successes, Marco has achieved Noale’s 11th victory in MotoGP for Aprilia, and has become the seventh manufacturer to achieve a streak of five victories after: Honda, Ducati, MV Agusta, Suzuki, Gilera and Yamaha.

And it’s not just a matter of victories and Marco’s form. The last four fastest laps have been set by an Aprilia rider: Fernández in Valencia, Bezzecchi in Thailand and Brazil and Ogura in the United States.

As if all this were not enough, Jorge Martín already has three consecutive podiums (between Sprint and GP), and added to Raúl Fernández, only Ogura remains as an Aprilia rider without being on the podium. Something that surely would not have been the case if he had not had the technical failure that took him out of the race.

Despite everything, Jorge Martín has returned in style
Despite everything, Jorge Martín has returned in style

Although Aprilia’s successes in MotoGP are still limited, it is curious to see how this is not the first time that the brand has achieved a 1-2. In fact, this year Bezzecchi and Martin have achieved it twice (Brazil and the United States), but in 2023 it was Aleix Epargaró and Maverick Viñales and in 2025, although from different teams, Bezzecchi himself and Raúl Fernández.

Even so, as banks are careful to remind us with investment products: past results do not guarantee future results, so in the factory they will have to continue gritting their teeth and trying to ensure that the lion of Noale remains the king of this jungle.
